History: (Deadpool 2 live-action film) - During a confrontation with Wolverine on Three Mile Island, William Stryker activated Weapon XI to stop Wolverine and the mutants he held captive from escaping. Right after Wolverine recognized Weapon XI as his old teammate Wade Wilson but before could engage him, the time-traveling Deadpool, another version of Wade Wilson from Earth-41633, showed up and shot his Weapon XI counterpart in the head, killing him instantly. Staying in the shadows, Deadpool explained to the confused Wolverine (whom he knew on Earth-41633) that he was clearing up mistakes in the timelines and revealed to Wolverine that one day after his retirement, he would urge Wolverine to spring back into action and that when that time came, Wolverine should agree. With Wolverine still trying to figure out what was happening, Deadpool departed the now altered timeline, telling Wolverine that he loved him.
Comments: Created by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds.
The unceremonious killing of the first live-action incarnation of Deadpool of course refers to the remarkable unpopularity of that depiction of the character among both fans and other creators.
This version of Wolverine, who diverged from his Earth-10005 (X-Men films) counterpart, was portrayed by Hugh Jackman through a combination of archive footage from X-Men Origins: Wolverine and alternate takes which originally went unused in that film. The version of the scene in the "Super Duper Cut," available on home video releases of Deadpool 2 is slightly extended from the theatrical version and contains additional dialogue from both Wolverine and time-traveling Deadpool.
Wolverine's height is taken from Hugh Jackman, the actor who portrayed him across ten live-action films and multiple alternate timelines.
Earth-18315 diverged from Earth-10005 when Deadpool-41633 traveled there.
In some of the films,
Wolverine seemed to display superhuman strength, reflexes and
speed. It was unclear if Wolverine actually possessed these as
superhuman abilities or if it was simply dramatic filmmaking.
Whether the cinematic Wolverine has these abilities or not,
Wolverine-18315 did not display them onscreen. --Proto-Man
