History:
(Machine Man I#18 (fb) - BTS) - Canadian operative
Agent K was assigned to investigate claims that the android Machine Man
deliberately sent the Hulk (Bruce Banner) into Canada, where the green
goliath destroyed prime tracts of Canadian timberland.
(Machine
Man I#18) - Agent K was
briefed by a Canadian Government minister and handed the dossier of the
information received from an anonymous source with hints that connected
Machine Man to the U.S. Government. With the government seeking an
explanation and possible compensation, Agent K was sent to Canada's
Department H where he met with super-powered agents from Alpha Flight:
speedster siblings Aurora and Northstar, and powerhouse Sasquatch; all
were given sonic transmitters for communication. The team undertook a
covert mission to New York, traveling by car. While Agent K carefully
examined the paperwork and investigated the physical sources, the Alpha
Flight members fought Machine Man. Agent K stealthily broke into
goverment offices at night in pursuit of information until he
discovered that American Senator Mile Brickman had crafted the dossier
so that Canada would take an aggressive stand against Machine Man,
thereby aiding the senator's political aspirations given his stance
against the robot. Agent K aborted Alpha Flight's mission and set about
to make Brickman pay for his inteference.
Comments: Created by Tom DeFalco & Steve Ditko.
For Canada's "top covert operative," he was never
seen again.
