History:
(Power Man I#46 (fb) - BTS) - Raised in rural America
and with excellent shooting skills, Charlie Bennett married Tina and
they lived in Vermont. Tina pursued a fashion model career and fashion
designer Jerome Hagen convinced Tina to move to Chicago for more
opportunities. Charlie grew jealous of his wife's burgeoning career and
refused to attend her networking events. A (secretly fake) cobalt bomb
planted by the nefarious Gideon Mace
caused panic and a citywide search. Charlie used the opportunity to
kill those who had taken his wife's attention away from him.
(Power Man I#46) - Charlie practiced shooting and
honing his aim from a rooftop while listening to a news broadcast about
the lost bomb. He ran toward the home of his target Hagen, firing
nervously at a cat on the way. From a rooftop, he watched Hagen eating
and shot him dead with one bullet. Luke Cage, running nearby in a
desperate search for the cobalt bomb, heard the gunshot and
investigated. Charlie went by foot to Continental Plaza where his wife
was partying with fashion designers, but was seen running along rooftops
by Cage, who gave pursuit. At the Plaza hotel, Charlie burst into the
room and threatened everyone there with his gun and Cage charged in
after him. Charlie's bullet bounced off the angry Cage, who destroyed
the rifle and smashed the gunman into a dazed state. Cage dragged him
away and took him along in a helicopter piloted by his friend Burgundy
as the frantic bomb search continued. Presumably Charlie was later
handed over to the police.
