History: (Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage video game - BTS) - Growing up in the St. Estes' Boy Home, Cletus Kasady became a criminal and bonded to an alien symbiote, dubbing himself Carnage. After a defeat at the hands of Spider-Man and Venom, Cletus Kasady lost his Carnage symbiote and was imprisoned in Ravencroft institution.
(Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage video game) - As Ravencroft guards transported Kasady, Kasady was able to summon forth his symbiote, allowing him to become Carnage again and slaughter all Ravencroft personnel as "practice" before an intended rematch with Spider-Man and Venom. After that, Carnage heard a voice inciting him to kill. He soon discovered Shriek, another Ravencroft supervillain patient, who could manipulate sound waves. She asked Carnage to free her as well so she could join him in his crimes. In search of Spider-Man, the two criminal soon accidentally found Spider-Man's evil doppelganger and Shriek decided to take the Doppelganger into their gang.
Carnage subsequently visited the Daily Bugle offices to force J. Jonah Jameson publish a challenge to Venom (who was in San Francisco at the time) and Spider-Man while Shriek and the Doppelganger actually found Spider-Man. Seriously injured in the subsequent fight with Shriek and Doppelganger, Spider-Man was saved by the vigilantes Cloak and Dagger and carried away to their church headquarters. There, Carnage regrouped with his so-called "family" and seemingly killed Dagger. After that, Carnage, Shriek and the Doppelganger traveled to Central Park, where they began chaotically killing random citizens of New York.
Venom soon found out about Carnage's actions and returned to New York from San Francisco. He attempted to defeat Carnage's "family" but instead was seriously injured in a fight with Carnage and his allies, forcing Venom to visit Peter Parker's apartment for assistance. Meanwhile, Carnage was found by Demogoblin, who had been in a previous alliance with the Doppelganger. Eventually, Demogoblin joined Carnage's "family" as well and together, they attacked the Deep night club. Spider-Man and Venom soon allied with Cloak, Black Cat, and Morbius the Living Vampire and battled the supervillains.
After Carrion joined Carnage's gang, Venom and Spider-Man's grouping acquired Mister Fantastic's sonic blaster in the Fantastic Four's headquarters and Firestar and Deathlok allied with the other heroes against Carnage. Defying Carnage and his gang in a Daily Bugle article that J. Jonah Jameson was asked to write, the superheroes fought Carnage and his allies in Prospect Park. Although some citizens who were hypnotized by Shriek tried to interfere, Carnage and the other supervillains were defeated. Venom provoked Firestar kill Carnage but Spider-Man dissuaded her. An angry Venom decided to kill Firestar for her refusal but Spider-Man came to her defense and was thrown aside by a strong blow from Venom. The recovered Carnage and Shriek then fought Venom and defeated him, kidnapping him and stealing the sound beam. While Carnage escaped, the heroes Captain America and Iron Fist helped the rest of superheroes recover from their defeat.
The assembled superheroes and a restored Dagger decided to defeat Shriek, who was brainwashing citizens of New York with her sound abilities while Carnage was torturing Venom with the sonic blaster. While there, Venom placed a little bit of his symbiote into the sonic blaster, breaking it and freeing himself. Although Venom got free, he was still enfeebled by Carnage's torture so he retreated.
Carnage joined his gang and their brainwashed New Yorkers in the battle against the superheroes on the Manhattan streets but the supervillains were defeated and Carnage seemed to die. However, when subsequently in Central Park, Spider-Man met Venom, who was angry at not being able to kill Carnage himself, Carnage revealed himself alive, although he was still enfeebled by the earlier battle. Beaten in Central Park, Carnage retreated to the ruined St. Estes' Boys Home, where he was defeated by Spider-Man and Venom for good and arrested by Avengers.
(Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety video game - BTS) - At some point, Carnage was apparently captured by Life Foundation.
(Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety video game) - After defeating the Life Foundation's symbiote spawns and their hosts, as well as the Life Foundation agents known as the Jury, Spider-Man, Venom, Captain America, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye and Daredevil met an escaped Carnage and defeated him.

Carnage's height & weight were approximated from that of his Earth-616 counterpart.
Spider-Man &
Venom: Maximum Carnage was developed
by Software Creations and published by LJN Toys Ltd. (before that it became a subsidiary of Acclaim Entertainment)
in 1994 for
Super NES and Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis. The game is an accurate
adaptation of the Maximum Carnage event (that took place in Spider-Man
Unlimited I#1-2, Amazing Spider-Man I#378-380, Spider-Man I#35-37,
Spectacular Spider-Man I#201-203 and Web of Spider-Man I#101-103) with
a very small number of
derogations. Theoretically, if something wasn't shown in the game, it
could be the same as in Earth-616.
Venom/Spider-Man:
Separation Anxiety, developed by Software
Creations and published by Acclaim Entertainment in 1995 for Super NES and Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis, is
another story. Although the title refers to the Venom: Separation Anxiety mini-series, it's actually loosely based
on the Venom: Lethal
Protector mini-series. There were a lot of derogations such as the Jury
being
Life Foundation members and Carnage's presence as the final boss. I
guess that's why it was designated as Earth-33734. It's unclear if the
game is either sequel or prequel of Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage because
the Venom:
Lethal Protector comic mini-series takes place
before the Maximum Carnage event but the Venom: Separation Anxiety comic
mini-series takes place after.
Since this is a different reality
& not Earth-616, in which the Venom comics & the Maximum
Carnage event occurs, my vote is that the Separation Anxiety video game
is a sequel but that's just my two cents. --Proto-Man
A fictionalized version of Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage is the center of the Venom: Carnage Unleashed comic mini-series.
