History: (Dark Reign: Fantastic Four#2) - After Earth-616 Reed Richards' alternate reality viewing device, the Bridge, malfunctioned due to the Fantastic Four's Baxter Building headquarters' losing power, Reed engaged the Bridge's visualizer to view his teammates Ben Grimm, Sue Richards and Johnny Storm, the trio having sent back in time to the prehistoric era to witness the cosmic Celestials on Earth, while his daughter Valeria Richards was restoring the Building's power. The restoration caused a compression of space-time and sent Ben, Sue and Johnny through time and space to experience alternate versions of themselves (see comments).
One such alternate history experienced was on Earth-96433, where
Chamberlain Grimm was with Queen Storm when the Captain of the Guard
revealed the "Man with the Heart of Iron" was leading a peasant revolt
against the Queen to turn their monarchy into a republic. Grimm
joined the Queen on the battlefield against the peasants when
space-time compressed again, shunting Chamberlain Grimm to Earth-96662,
where he appeared aboard a
flying pirate ship with pirate versions of himself, Johnny and Sue.
(Dark Reign: Fantastic Four#3) - Chamberlain Grimm found the Earth-96662 ship under attack from another flying ship, which was crewed by Skrulls. Grimm was initially unsure of whether to join in a fight with these "ruffians" but ultimately teamed up with the pirate Ben to attack the Skrulls. They defeated the ship but found themselves about to be attacked by several other ships. Space-time then compressed once more and both Chamberlain Grimm and Pirate Captain Johnny found themselves shunted to Earth-39758, a western world that utilized robotic horses. The pair joined their cowboy counterparts in drinking as Black Susan won her duel against the "Man from Beyond."
Space-time soon compressed again and Chamberlain Grimm, Pirate
Captain Johnny and Black Susan found
themselves shunted to Earth-60907, where they appeared on a WWII style
bomber with the Earth-60907 native Sue, Johnny and Ben. When the plane
was eventually hit and seemed about to crash, Pirate Captain Johnny
parachuted to safety but Chamberlain Grimm, unable to pilot due to
planes not existing in his home reality, found no parachute for himself
and was forced to jump out of the plane without a parachute.
(Dark Reign: Fantastic Four#4)
- Space-time collapsed once more and Chamberlain Grimm, Pirate Captain
Johnny, Black Susan and the
trio of Sue, Ben and Johnny from Earth-60907 found themselves shunted
to Earth-19936. Here, Reed
Richards had become the
Supreme Intelligence, and was attacked an
killed by Venom-possessed Skrulls,
who attacked and killed some of the
present Johnny, Ben, and Sue counterparts. Chamberlain Grimm was
last seen being
overwhelmed before Reed-616 shut off the Bridge and returned
Earth-616's Sue,
Johnny and Ben back to their home reality.

Chamberlain Grimm's physical
stats are approximated from that
of
his Earth-616 counterpart, Thing.
The exact nature of Earth-616's Ben, Sue and Johnny experiencing the alternate realties is never explained. They seem to be experiencing the alternate realties from the bodies of their counterparts, jumping between them when space-time compresses. The issue arises when there are multiple versions in the same reality, especially in the final reality visited, as by that point, three versions of Ben, Sue and Johnny exist in the same reality. So which version are the Earth-616's versions inhabiting?
The comic was not clear which Ben, Sue and Johnny
counterparts died fighting the Venom-possessed Skrulls of
reality-19936. Some were shown with what were likely mortal wounds
before Earth-616's Johnny, Ben & Sue were returned to Earth-616 but
their deaths were not confirmed.
As such, their
fates are left unrevealed in the subprofiles below. --Proto-Man
