History:
(Hostess Pie Advertisement: Daredevil in "Because") - Thrill-seeking Johnny Clymbe scaled the side of the tallest building in New York City while police and other onlookers watched. Some people in the crowd shouted for him to stop because if he fell it would give the city a bad name. Not heeding the warning, Johnny continued upward which soon caught Daredevil's attention. Upon reaching the top, Johnny leapt over the outstretched form of Daredevil who was blocking his way to grab him and landed on the roof. Daredevil then asked him why he made the crazy climb and Johnny said because they were there--Hostess fruit pies, and he wanted them all. Returning to the street with the roaring crowd, he was given the key to the city and extra fruit pies while Daredevil welcomed him to the world of heroes.

Strange motivation for an athletic stuntman to climb up the side of a tall building to reach a stash of unhealthy snacks. This may have been a planned publicity stunt set up by Hostess Foods. It seems in this world, Hostess fruit pies, snack cakes and Twinkies were highly addictive. Imagine what could happen if a worldwide shortage on these snacks could have occurred. Increase in crime, mass riots or maybe even global wars fought over the control of these delicious treats. What if Hostess foods changed its baking formulas due to some evil scientific genius and used it to bring about this world's zombie apocalypse. I can envision hoards of Hostess Zombies eating people, who they, in their near brainless state, see as walking Twinkies. I believe there had been a few Marvel Zombie parodies of Hostess ads so it may not be out of the realm of possibilities.
