Powers/Abilities: Conquistador, before his transformation, was a trained seeing eye dog, and had sharp claws, sharp fangs, and a powerful sense of smell.
After being mystically transformed into a Hellhound by the Dire Wraith witch Mara, Conquistador additionally developed telepathic skills that allowed him to hone in on his prey, and the ability to transform into a wraith-like monster that could phase through objects at will.
Conquistador was vulnerable to sunlight, and to the energy of Rom's Neutralizer.

History:
(Rom I#33 (fb) - BTS) - Years ago, a group of Dire Wraith sorceresses
killed a few humans and took over their home, the Cliff House. One of
them took the form of Aunt Mara, who raised the humans' daughter,
Sybil, who had gone blind after the loss of her parents.
In time, the Dire Wraiths started experimenting on animals, and they transformed a small puppy named Conquistador into a Hellhound, a telepathic creature of darkness that was completely loyal to the Dire Wraiths. Under Aunt Mara's command, Conquistador acted as Sybil's seeing eye dog for years.
(Rom I#33) - Aunt Mara led Conquistador down to the beach, where Sybil was looking out over the ocean, hoping her parents would return after all those years. Conquistador was with Mara when she greeted a group of Dire Wraiths at the Cliff House. When Sybil overheard Mara and the Dire Wraiths saying how they had murdered Sybil's parents, Conquistador sensed Sybil telepathically. When Mara heard her she ordered Conquistador to go after her. Conqustador shifted into his Hellhound form, phasing through walls to hunt down Sybil as she fled outside. Rom attacked, and Conquistador phased into the ground to escape him as the Dire Wraiths chased after Sybil.
Conquistador phased through Rom's armor, trying to destroy it, but Rom unleashed a solar charge against Conquistador, then blasted him with his Neutralizer, which could send Dire Wraiths to Limbo. The Neutralizer changed Conquistador back to his normal form, then, knowing there was no chance to save the dog, threw it into the ocean below to kill the creature.
