History:
(X-Treme X-Men X-Pose#1 (fb) - BTS) - In the mutant paradise of Valle
Soleada, California, a group of mutants formed together, creating a
gang called the Spikes (named so for the extra part of their DNA,
giving them a 'spike'), and they would sometimes harass humans for fun.
Members of the group included Dervish, Porous, and Cutter. They called
normal humans 'Statics'.
(X-Treme X-Men X-Pose#1) - The Spikes teased a group of statics. When cops approached, including Officer Mendes, and the Spikes teased them, with Dervish using her powers to spin a cop and a civilian around at super-speed. Bishop and Sage confronted them, when the Spikes interrupted an interview with Manoli Wetherell and Neal Conan, humiliating the Spikes with the powers as they chided the Spikes for assuming they were all humans.
(X-Treme X-Men X-Pose#2) - The Spikes had an altercation with Rogue, with Dervish spinning her around. Gambit used his "charm" powers to convince Dervish and the others to go away.
(X-Treme X-Men I#33 (fb) - BTS) - The Spikes joined with other mutants, including Barb, in seeking to take over a neighborhood, making it "mutants only". They helped run the family of Marie D'Ancanto off a cliff to their deaths in order to clear out the neighborhood.
(X-Treme X-Men I#33) - The Spikes were hanging on the beach when Cannonball and Rogue attacked, determined to get revenge for the D'Ancanto family. During the following fight, Dervish trapped Rogue in a fast spin, but Rogue escaped and defeated Dervish.
(X-Treme X-Men I#34 (fb) - BTS) - Dervish and the others were arrested for their part in the deaths of the D'Ancanto family.
(X-Treme X-Men I#34) - Dervish and the others were in court when the judge ruled that there was not sufficient evidence to prosecute the mutants for the D'Ancanto deaths.
(X-Treme X-Men I#35) - Dervish, Porous, and Cutter were complaining of being bored when a black-clad telepath appeared and showed them an image of Cannonball, unconscious on a nearby beach. The telepath (controlled by Elias Bogan) offered them the drug Kick, which would boost their powers, then invited them to go after Cannonball. On the beach over Cannonball's unconscious body, they battled mutants Skitz and Stringfellow before the police, led by Officer Mendes, and other civilians arrived to fight the Spikes. As Cannonball woke up and fought Cutter, Rogue and Bishop arrived. Dervish briefly spun Bishop around at top speed, but Bishop knocked Dervish out with a blast.
