History:
(Web of Spider-Man I#81 (fb) - BTS) - Years ago, Ricky Dichinson was
convinced by older brother Wyndell to help him go and steal a car so
that they could have money. Ricky was afraid, but worried Wyndell might
hurt him if he didn't go.
(Web of Spider-Man I#81 (fb)) - When Spider-Man attacked, webbing up Wyndell, Ricky initially fled, but Spider-Man stopped him.
(Web of Spider-Man I#81 (fb) - BTS) - The police arrived and Ricky gave them a full accounting. Wyndell was arrested and bailed himself out.
(Web of Spider-Man I#81 (fb)) - Wyndell yelled at Ricky about ratting him out, then told Ricky he was leaving town and that Ricky would have to fend for himself from now on.
(Web of Spider-Man I#81 (fb) - BTS) - When he went to court, Ricky pled guilty, but his sentence was suspended due to his youth. Ricky worked hard in school and then put himself through college. As an adult, he got a job as an assistant manager at the Johnson Scott Company, where he traded bonds and securities. He worried constantly that his criminal past would be exposed and he'd lose everything. Every time he saw Spider-Man outside, Ricky felt like the hero was checking up on him. Ricky sometimes had nightmares of Wyndell coming back for him.
(Web of Spider-Man I#81) - After work, Ricky was invited to go out for drinks with Bob and other co-workers, but he went home instead. There, he found Wyndell in his apartment, dressed as a super-villain, Bloodshed, and Wyndell demanded that Ricky come up with a million dollars for him so he could get out of a criminal scrape, and Wyndell crushed a television to show his strength. Back at the office, Ricky realized he could easily steal the million from the company safe. Outside, Ricky saw Spider-Man and called out to him, but when the hero approached him, Ricky pretended someone else had called him, then Ricky fled. Bloodshed attacked Spider-Man in response, then he returned and tore apart Ricky's apartment, promising to harm Ricky if he betrayed him again. Unwilling to compromise his well-being again, Ricky moved all of his company's assets to a secure safe, and Bloodshed was furious, attacking him. Spider-Man rushed in to fight Bloodshed, and the hero was soon overwhelmed. Ricky leapt on Bloodshed's back to fight him, and Bloodshed tossed Ricky into a wall, but it afforded Spider-Man enough time to defeat Bloodshed. Spider-Man thanked Ricky for his help, shaking his hand. Though traumatic, the entire experience gave Ricky new confidence to use in his life. He turned Bloodshed in and then no longer felt afraid every day.
(Spider-Man Unlimited I#4/2 (fb)) - Wyndell was attacked in prison when Philippe Bazin, the man who Bloodshed had worked for, put a hit out on Bloodshed. Ricky went to visit Wyndell, encouraging him to turn state's evidence against his former employers and to enter the Witness Protection Program, but Wyndell was feeling scared of Bazin's bodyguard, the ruthless Nico. Wyndell agreed, as long as Spider-Man agreed to protect him.
(Spider-Man Unlimited I#4/2) - After being attacked, Wyndell escaped from prison in his Bloodshed costume, and Ricky begged Spider-Man to protect him. Spider-Man helped save Bloodshed's life, but then Wyndell disappeared, not returning to jail.
