History:
(Dark
Guard I#2 (fb) - BTS) - On the planet Eopia, the Egalitern bloc was opposed by the Technarchy sect/bloc, whose chairman-prime
Demogog Tansteele led his people to devote
their efforts to the art of war for
30 years.
(Dark Guard I#2 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Trusivor became governor of the Egaliterns.
(Dark Guard I#1 (fb) - BTS / Dark Guard I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Conflicts between the Technarchy and Egaliterns escalated to the point that each force was capable of incinerating not only just one another but their entire world, Eopia.
(Dark Guard I#1 (fb) - BTS / Dark Guard I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Representing the Techno-Wizards of Earth's Mys-Tech, Gudrun Tyburn used an artificial replicant/golem of herself to establish a presence on Eopia, escalating the war between Egaliterns and Technarchy in effort to cause the planet's destruction via thermo-nuclear war.(Dark Guard I#1 (fb) - BTS / Dark Guard I#2 (fb) - BTS / Dark Guard I#3 (fb) - BTS) <Last year (in relation to the main story; whatever a year is on Eopia)>- Mys-Tech
"smart weapon" agents Permafrost and Sunder were sent to manipulate
Trusivor and the Egaliterns, promising to help free their land from the
Technarchy threat. In reality, the goal of these smart weapons was to
precipitate Eopia's nuclear destruction.
Similarly, Mys-Tech sent Collapsar to "aid" Tansteele and the Technarchy.
(Dark Guard I#3 (fb) - BTS) - As part of some "secret defense program," Sunder implanted three hundred empathic receptors deep in the planet's continental crust. These would absorb the death scream of Eopia as it perished in nuclear conflagration. Mys-Tech could then synthesize a raw, emotive force of pure death-agony to pay off Mys-Tech's debt to the Hell-lord Mephisto.
(Dark Guard I#1 - BTS / (Dark Guard I#2 (fb) - BTS) - ) - The Time Guardian gathered the Dark Guard -- Albion, Stacy Arnheim, Death's Head, Killpower, Colonel Tigon Liger, Motormouth, and Ultra Marine -- to oppose Mys-Tech's becoming a universal threat and -- per the Time Guardian's Superconductor assistant -- to slay Collapsar.
(Dark Guard I#2 - BTS) - The Time Guardian's Superconductor assistant detailed the situation on Eopia and Mys-Tech's involvement.Comments: Created by Dan Abnett, Carlos Pacheco, and Oscar Jimenez under the Marvel UK imprint.
The main image is not the best, as five of the main figures are not Egaliterns, but the rest of the images are mostly face shots in front of a computer screen or something. It's a more dynamic shot, and its got a good profile shot of Trusivor, plus a number of the members of the press.
There were minimal differences in the appearances of the Eopians, regardless of whether they were Technarchy or Egaliterns. I don't recall seeing any female Eopians. Perhaps the Eopians were clones or they reproduced asexually...or something? Or maybe the females just weren't seen.
Albedo, derived from the Latin word meaning whiteness, is the ratio of the radiation (radiant energy or luminous energy) reflected by a surface to that incident on it. I'm not sure that the Albedo Crux Cluster is a known existing astronomical structure, and I would assume this was just a sci-fi use of a scientific term.
According to space.com a cluster of stars is a galaxy if it is held
together by dark matter...there's more information on that, but it's
beyond my Freshman astronomy I took back in 1988. Feel free to Google
it for yourself, or to provide a layman's explanation for everyone else.
Other sources just note a cluster to be smaller than a galaxy,
independent of the habitability of any stars in the cluster.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Egaliterns should be distinguished from:
(Dark
Guard I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Three hours later, Trusivor's
staff showed Ultra-Marine some of the defense initiatives, at which
point he found evidence of the 300 Mys-Tech weapons buried deep in the
continental crust. (Dark Guard I#3) - In Trusivor's office, Dark Angel and Albion revealed Permafrost and Sunder's true purpose, and Albion advised Trusivor that the Egalitern and Technarchy must by reconciled soon, noting that both sides must see that mutual destruction can be the only result of their present confrontation. They were interrupted by Ultra-Marine, who advised Dark Angel and Albion to come down to the war-rooms in the bunker below the mansion. In the bunkers, Ultra-Marine revealed the Mys-Tech weapons, at which point the Gudrun Tyburn golem appeared and revealed the weapons' true purpose. "Tyburn" further informed them that the Technarchy -- in response to the other half of the Dark Guard's assault on the Technarchy's Helios Plateau encampment -- had declared war on the Egaliterns, blaming them for the assault. As the Technarchy were launching their first strike and the Egalitern retaliation would be automatic, "Tyburn" noted that Eopia was finished. (Dark Guard I#4) - After Death's Head, Liger, and Motormouth explosively destroyed Collapsar, an ensign reported the mysterious massive explosion on Helios Plateau. Correctly reasoning that the real Tyburn would not have risked coming to Eopia in person, Dark Guard prompted the Tyburn golem to reveal her true nature, transform into an insectoid smart weapon and attack; Dark Angel swiftly destroyed the Tyburn golem. At Dark Angel's prompting, Trusivor ordered his ensign to broadcast a diplomatic initiative on all channels, suing the Technarchy bloc for peace unconditionally. They were interrupted by a transmission from Helios Plateau, and Death's Head noted that casualties had taken the fight out of the Technarchy; presuming Tansteele to have perished, Death's Head assessed the Technarchy to be amenable to peace negotiations with the Egaliterns. (Dark Guard I#4 - BTS) - With other Technarchy officials en route to Helios Plateau and Trusivor ready to speak to his opposite number, however, Tansteele commandeered the command gunship. (Dark Guard I#4) - An Egalitern tech monitor then reported a launch alert, as two cruise missiles had left the Technarchy silos near Helios and they were targeting the Egalitern capital city; with impact in six minutes, the monitor considered the Egaliterns to be sitting ducks. --Dark Guard#3 |
(Dark
Guard I#2) - Just outside Trusivor's mansion in the capital of the
Egalitern bloc, Trusivor -- flanked by Permafrost and
Sunder in in conventional humanoid forms -- addressed his people. He noted that
Eopia's future was hanging by a thread and that he if his upcoming
meeting with the Technarchy ambassador amounted to naught, the
Egalitern bloc would be at war with the Tech bloc. As the aliens (Albion, Dark Angel, Ultra-Marine) approached Trusivor and Dark Angel noted they would speak with him, Trusivor called on Sunder and Permafrost to protect him and slay what he believed to be Technarchy assassins. In response, Permafrost and Sunder assumed their massive true forms, intimidating the Dark Guard members. (Dark Guard I#3) - During the ensuing battle, the press, Trusivor, and presumably other Egalitern security agents hid out behind a car (perhaps the same one seen in the picture to the left). After a fierce but relatively brief struggle, which damaged the governor's mansion and surrounding structures, the Dark Guard members destroyed both Mys-Tech constructs/smart weapons, after which Dark Angel convinced Trusivor to speak with them. --Dark Guard#2 Note: I would ASSume that the vehicle is Trusivor's, but maybe it wasn't... |
