Powers/Abilities: Flyx was a full-fledged Faltinian who may have adopted the form of an Earth faerie creature in
order to not inflict harm on the lower dimensions (such as Earth)
when traveling there.
According to Dormammu (while posing as Flyx), the energy released by the materialization of a full-fledged
Faltinian on Earth might incinerate half of New York City.
History:
(Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme#48 (fb) - BTS) - Dormammu adopted the form and name of Flyx a plot to regain control of the Dark Dimension (see comments).
(Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme Annual#2/5 - BTS) - Flyx introduced himself as Clea's "cousin" from the Faltine and sought to enlist her help in a feud between Sinifer's kin and Kalijulaa's kin.
Together they traveled to the Purple Dimension where Clea wanted to convince Aggamon to become her ally.
Aggamon, on the other hand, caught the opportunity to collect the enormous power granted by the Faltinians. He imprisoned both Clea and Flyx in a crystal prison that drained their life forces. The crystal faceted walls also prevented the contact between Flyx and his pure Faltinian self, thus he could not revert to his original form.
Clea used a spell calling for power from mystic entities different form the Faltine, and reversed the draining process. Having recovered his strength, Fly transformed into a full-fledged Faltinian and shattered the entire stronghold. Aggamon was defeated, and he assured he would provide Clea with his power gems, when she would need to take power into the Dark Dimension.
(Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme#42 - BTS) - Clea and Flyx
went back on Earth, where they witnessed Galactus' arrival.
Flyx asked to depart for the Dark Dimension. They left Earth.
(Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme#43 - BTS) - Clea
used her Watchfire to look into the Dark Dimension, but all she
could see was total darkness. After turning back to the Sanctum
Sanctorum for a little while, Clea and Flyx continued their search,
leaving for the Sixth Dimension, in search for Tiboro's alliance.
(Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme#48 - BTS) - Tiboro and other mystics
allied with Clea and Flyx and assaulted the Dark Dimension,
defeating the G'uranthic Guardian. After
Clea deposed Umar and Mordo, Dormammu was free from his Oath
so revealed his true form.
Flyx
transformed, he had been Dormammu in disguise, having used this
scheme to regain control of the Dark Dimension.
Comments:
Created by Jean-Marc Lofficier, Roy Thomas,Frank Lopez, and Jimmy Palmiotti.
The Flyx that we saw may have been a Dormammu
impersonation but it is the considered opinion of the
co-creator of the character, that there is a real Flyx in the
Faltine (besides, Dormammu would not have taken the chance of
impersonating a Faltinian who didn't exist and risk being exposed)
and that, therefore, the information imparted by Flyx to Clea about
the Faltine and her kin-beings is indeed true.
Flyx originally had a sub-profile in the Sinifer profile 05/14/2004, but it was expanded to a full profile by Spidermay and then modified to refer to the real Flyx by Snood
