History:
(Our Love Story#3/1) - Pop music was the most
important thing in Nan Foster's life and she hoped to one day be part
of it. She listened to music records as much as she could, swept up in
the romance and beauty, longing for a boyfriend who shared her passion.
Having saved all month, she rushed after work to her local record store
for new albums and collided with another customer, Mike Martin. Both
were instantly smitten and he later walked her home, but she was wary
that he was too "square" and not "hip" enough because he said he was a
lawyer. Dates filled with musical acts followed and romance blossomed,
but Nan broke it off, concerned it was getting too serious with someone
she thought was from a different world, and both were left heartbroken.
Soon after, Nan discovered that Mike was actually a theatrical lawyer
managing pop music groups and this made Nan feel even worse.
(Our Love Story#4/3) - Forlorn, Nan walked in a
heartbroken daze and was almost hit by a car. She tracked Mike down but
he was formal and left quickly. At home, Nan stopped listening to music
as it reminded her too much of Mike and she cried herself to sleep. Weeks
later, she heard that Mike had been fired from the top groups he
represented and she called to see if he was in need. Surprised to hear
from Nan, Mike agreed to go on another date, despite having no income,
and their romance quickly rekindled as they realized their love was
more important. On a sunset beach walk, they planned their wedding.

"Nan" is presumably short for Nancy.
With so many Fosters in the Marvel Universe, surely
she's related to one of them...?
This is one of very few 2-parters in Marvel's stable
of romance comics.
These romance stories often had the flavor of the time in which they were written, and nothing else to tie them into Marvel's sliding timescale. As such, it's likely that the stories took place at the time of publication rather than being part of the sliding timescale.

Mike Martin should not be confused with:
Mike Martin was a theatrical lawyer for several
prominent musical bands. He bumped into Nan Foster at record store and
both were instantly attracted to each other. A romance quickly grew,
but Nan, unaware of his music connection, was concerned that a lawyer
wouldn't share her passion for music and so broke it off. Both were
heartbroken and he avoided her. For unrevealed reasons, Mike was soon
fired as lawyer. Hearing of this on the news, Nan phoned him and their
romance was quickly rekindled. Realizing their love was the most
important thing for them, they planned their marriage, although
Mike still had dreams of representing major musical acts.
