Ulysses had embellished the story. Reed replied, further discussing the
5th Dimension and other similarly numbered-dimensions.
(Marvel

Hunters#1 (fb) - BTS) - Hath wrote an article on the Molten Man-Thing.
(Marvel
Monsters: From the Files of Ulysses Bloodstone and the Monster
Hunters#1 (fb) - BTS) - After Ulysses Bloodstone's daughter Elsa
was empowered via a Bloodgem fragment and had a series of adventures,
Hath learned of her and began sending her a multitude of messages. Elsa
was initially "skeeved out" by the correspondences from the middle-aged
Jacob until she learned his connection to her father.
After Elsa agreed to help Hath on his monster research, he sent her a
package containing letters (typewritten or handwritten; some even on
leaves), printed e-mails, drawings, photographs, etc. from the monster
files he had collected. Frank Johnson and the others also began sending
information, etc. to Elsa.
(Marvel
Monsters: From the Files of Ulysses Bloodstone and the Monster
Hunters#1 (fb) - BTS) - After Elsa received an odd e-mail from
Roderick Krupp, aka Digger, discussing the House of Shadows, she asked
Hath "if this was "really for real." Hath assured her that it indeed
was, and he advised her not to buy anything from Digger.
(Marvel
Monsters: From the Files of Ulysses Bloodstone and the Monster
Hunters#1 (fb) - BTS) - Along with Ulysses' letter discussing
Droom, Hath noted the limited similarities between Droom and the Iguana
(mutated by Dr. Curt Connors, aka the Lizard).
In association with (presumably) his father's report on Gorgolla, Hath
discussed that the Defenders' Gargoyle (Isaac Christians) was serving
as the "butler of the damned" (as an agent of Hellstorm).
In response to her father's article on Grogg, Elsa asked Hath what they
had on the Apocalypse Beast and noted that they needed to put together
an article for future reference. She also discussed researching the
various raced pre-dating mankind known as "Great Ones" and determining
if there were any connections between any of them.
In association with the file on It the Living Colossus, Hath included a
handwritten note to Elsa, commenting that while Bob O'Bryan seemed
benign enough, they should keep a wary eye on It regardless.
In response to Pym's e-mail on the Kosmosians, Elsa sent an e-mail to
Hath, querying whether some of the giant monsters in their files had
tapped into Pym Particles (aka Kosmosian growth pollen). She also
wondered whether Hank Pym or Bill Foster (Goliath) might be able to
supply them with shrinking Pym Particles for use in taking down giant
monsters.
In response to the file on the aquatic Giganto, Elsa updated the files
on various other aquatic Gigantos and also discussed the Subterranean
Gigantos associated with the Mole Man.
In
response to Hath's query on the Living Totem, Elsa sent him an e-mail
detailing what she had learned about that and similar creatures.
After Elsa sent Hath a television transcript of Dollar Bill's interview
of the Scarlet Beetle, Hath forwarded it to Henry Pym, Bill Foster,
Janet Van Dyne, and Cassandra Lang. Hath told Elsa that Cassie reminded
him of Elsa, as she was another most impressive young woman.
Elsa sent Hath information on Monstrollo from a Comic-Con promoting his appearance.
(Marvel
Monsters: From the Files of Ulysses Bloodstone and the Monster
Hunters#1 (fb) - BTS) - After months of
compiling, expanding, and upgrading the tech/resolution of the
information, Elsa emailed the folder to Hath, who replied, asking if it
was OK to send batch #2 (of 11).

With the exception of articles written by beings who have since died, I
don't think there's any real way to tell the order in which Hath
received the articles. In cases where there is no such distinction, I
just listed them in the order that they appeared in the Marvel Monsters
files. But, that listing is obviously not necessarily chronological.
OK, I'm ready for the next generation Monster Hunters series, featuring
Elsa Bloodstone, Sebastian Druid, Jacob Hathaway, possibly Makkari (or
perhaps he's had some hybrid-human kids over the millennia), and the
son or daughter of Zawadi...actually, it would be best if all of the
others were second generation, but the original Zawadi gathered
them...and, they could have an adventure involving....Chtylok...the
Scarlet Beetle...wait...they could uncover the Cockroach Conspiracy!
It's so easy, it almost writes itself...
The letter to Hath from Xavier regarding Spore noted Jacob Hathaway to
be at least based out of the Explorers' Club (the letter from Xavier
said "Explorers Club"). It is unconfirmed whether he was a member or an
employee. The information revealed thus far has his gathering
information rather than participating in adventures, but perhaps his
research qualified him to be an honorary member.
Elsa considered Hath middle-aged when he contacted her in her modern
era. Stanley Hathaway looked like he was at least 60 circa Marvel
Universe#4, which took place in 1956, but it's anyone's guess when
Jacob Hathaway was born. I think I remember Strom Thurmond fathering a child in his 80's.
With Jacob taking over his father's role in 1980, you'd think he'd have
been AT LEAST 16-18 years old at that time, which fits nicely with him
being "middle-aged" in 2006 (that would make him 42-44) at that time of
publication. However, the sliding timescale always complicates the ages
of characters active in the modern era with histories tying into
specific time periods. At the time I write this profile, in 2021, that
would put the 2006 story/publication as about 3 years ago Marvel Time,
which would make Hath 54-56 at the time he contacted Elsa. Still
certainly fair-enough for middle-age, but if we look back on this in
2040 (assuming we and/or comics are still around), it will start to get
more problematic. Then again, maybe Elsa just assumed Hath was middle
aged when he was actually a lot older...it won't be a problem for
awhile, but eventually...
This profile was completed 4/25/2021, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 20th anniversary 's celebratory event.
