History:
(Amazing Adult Fantasy#10/5 (fb) - BTS) - Karl Kragg
trained intensely as a bodybuilder, entering various competitions, and
winning prize money and fame. But his arrogance grew too, with
expectations that women would want him and he ignored his family.
However, news of his physical prowess had reached another planet that
also held competitions.
(Amazing Adult Fantasy#10/5) - Karl
won another competition, much to the chagrin of other competitors and
audience members. Karl wanted the girlfriend of Joe, an average-built
man, and Karl bullied him away. Later, Karl's brother Ben pleaded for
help with financial difficulties that he and their ill sister had, but
Karl dismissed him while he was working out in his private gym and Ben
went home upset. The space alien Unog from the Fifth Galaxy arrived,
calling Karl Mr. Earth, and offered him the chance to compete in an
intergalactic competition to become Mr. Universe. Unfazed by the alien
presence for the potential glory, Karl accepted and was soon in the
alien arena against even more burly finalists. However, the other
competitors seemed to struggle with weights and bending metal that Karl easily
conquered, even lifting rival one above his head in a show of brute strength.
But the other competitors knew the final prize and deliberately held
back, so Karl won, expecting to be envied in the universe. Instead, he
was coated in a golden substance that left him immobile, a living
statue for others to stare at and admire. The other competitors thought
Karl an idiot for seeking to win the tournament.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee & Steve Ditko.
If Kragg was considered the perfect specimen when
other powerful Terran specimens existed, such as gods, Eternals, etc.,
then maybe this is set in another dimension. Alternatively, the aliens
were looking for a purely human specimen.

Unog was an extraterrestrial from the Fifth Galaxy.
It recruited outstanding physical specimens from various planets to

planet for the competition.
