History:
(Hyperkind#9 (fb) - BTS) - Forty years ago, Lazurex
the
Robot Master created his Robosquad of self-aware robot minions that
aided him in small victories.
(Hyperkind#9 (fb)) - Lazurex engaged
the heroic super-powered team Paxis (Clarion, Dreamdance, Eschbacher,
Logicka, Tempest) in
another battle. Clarion's raw power gave Paxis the upper hand and
Logicka used her technomancer powers to force reactor core instability
in a downed robot minion. Dreamdance used her power to reveal
Lazurex's deepest fantasy to distract him. Seeing his desire was
Logicka, Dreamdance cast the illusion onto the malfunctioning robot.
Kissing its highly electrified form, Lazurex was severely
burnt and seemingly died. Paxis departed victorious but Robosquad took
their
fallen creator back to his lab and sacrificed their parts to resurrect
him as a powerful cyborg. The process took many years.
(Hyperkind#9 (fb) - BTS) - Now calling himself
Lazurex Prime, he swore vengeance on Paxis, only to find the world
changed, Paxis destroyed decades before by the nefarious Paragon John
and made a comical myth covertly enforced by his Paracorps to exert his
will.
(Hyperkind#7) - Lazurex Prime extended an arm to pull
away a Paracorps soldier trying to stop
Hyperkind stealing a troopmover, suspecting they were seeking the
secret Paxis headquarters.
(Hyperkind#8)
- Lazurex Prime confronted Ambertrance Fasia, (formerly Logicka,
weakened but sustained by alien tech), last member of Paxis and
guardian
of the secret Paxis headquarters. Lazurex Prime threatened her death
and she hoped for
Hyperkind (the Neo-Paxis team of Amokk, Armata, Bliss and Logix) to
arrive.
(Hyperkind#9) - Fasia fired at her foe with a heavy
gun, but Lazurex Prime easily repelled her. Hyperkind charged in with
Bliss distracting him with illusions of long-past Paxis and especially
his killer Dreamdance. Yet Lazurex Prime proved too strong without the
raw power of Clarion to stop him, although technomancer Logix, having
drilled into the foe's head, briefly stopped him. The Neo-Paxis
searched where the fifth replacement member could be who would have
Clarion's power, finding it in the giant dog-like Ecka, whose universal
consciousness and sheer power overwhelmed Lazurex Prime (also freeing
Logix) and zapped the villain inert into the ocean.
Comments: Created by Fred Burke, Paris Cullins, Mike Halblieb.
Lulo the robot refers to him as "Dr. L" in a flashback scene; this may suggest he has a PhD, or it may be just another inflated villain's codename or a term of endearment. I'm going with the latter.
