History:
(Venom II#36) - One of the biggest
crimelords in Philadelphia, Lord Ogre soon learned that there was a new
super hero in town - Venom - when the symbiote began tearing through his
low-level drug and arms dealers. He located and confronted Venom as he
mopped up some of his underlings during a human-trafficking operation in
a warehouse. He commended one of his "apostles" who Venom was
interrogating for not giving him up - then set his attack dogs on both
of them. Venom handled the dogs, but by the time he was finished, Lord
Ogre had departed.
(Venom II#37) - Lord Ogre placed a massive bounty on Venom, bringing a number of villains into the city to kill the symbiote. At his behest, Venom was confronted by Death-Shield, Blood Spider, and Jagged Bow while raiding one of Lord Ogre's drug labs - and then by Lord Deathstrike and the Constrictor. However, Venom escaped when the hired killers began squabbling amongst themselves. Later, Lord Ogre met with more assassins at his penthouse, including Foolkiller, Makro and a group of Hand warriors, a team of Nakh assassins - and the Jack O'Lantern (secretly a brainwashed imposter).
(Venom II#38 - BTS) - Venom battled a number of Lord Ogre's assassins all over the city - Makro and the Hand, Lord Deathstrike, Constrictor, the Brothers Grimm, Foolkiller, and the Nakh - but the imposter Jack O'Lantern came the closest, killing his neighbor Mr. Benton and forcing Venom to save his daughter Andi by transforming her into the symbiote-bonded Mania.
(Venom II#39 - BTS) - Venom and Mania defeated Lord Ogre's assassins.
(Venom II#40) - Mania attacked one of Lord Ogre's operations, defeating his men before confronting Ogre himself. Although he claimed not to fear her, he fled rather than confront her.
(Venom II#41) - Mania attacked Lord Ogre's penthouse; after she tore through his guards, he took on her personally, grabbing her throat and revealing he had a chemical weapon built into his chest, designed to kill huge numbers of people if he were to be killed. She called his bluff, as she didn't believe him, but Venom intervened, not wanting his protege to become a killer. Soon, the penthouse was invaded by the D.O.A., who sought to claim the Hell-mark on Mania's symbiote for themselves. Directed by Crossbones, the D.O.A.'s Master Mayhem unleashed a horde of demons from the portal on his chest. The demons overwhelmed Lord Ogre, killing him and activating the chemical weapon. Venom tore it from his corpse and tossed it back into Master Mayhem's portal, saving the city.
Comments: Created by Cullen Bunn and Pepe Larraz.
I feel that Bunn wanted to do more with this guy, but had to wrap his plotline up with Venom's impending cancellation.
