History:
(Inhumanoids#2 (fb)) - Millennia ago, three giant but malevolent Inhumanoids (powerful Metlar born deep underground, skeletal D'Compose and plant-like Tendril) fought Mutores (elemental humanoid creatures including the rock-like Granites and tree-like Redwoods), causing much chaos and destruction. Eventually, each Inhumanoid was trapped by Mutores, with the dual being Magnacore snaring Metlar in a magnetic field underground.
(Inhumanoids#4 (fb) - BTS) - The Granites kept Metlar imprisoned in Granite City deep underground.
(Inhumanoids#2) - In the current era, Redwoods informed the human hero
Liquidator of the Inhumanoids' threat and he then readied the armored Earth Force team.
(Inhumanoids#3) - Already having escaped their
prisons, D'Compose and Tendril focused on freeing Metlar.
(Inhumanoids#4) - Earth Force pursued D'Compose and
Tendril deep underground to find the two Inhumanoids attacking Granite
City. The dual beings making up Magnacore were threatened, disrupting
their hold over Metlar and the fiercest Inhumanoid escaped, scattering
the Granites. Earth Force tried to snare the giant with a grappling
hook from their Interceptor vehicle, but Metlar easily smashed it away.
Briefly hypnotizing them and about to consume two of Earth Force in his
lava-laden mouth, Metlar was stopped by Liquidator on his hoverpod.
Other Earth Force members caused Metlar to fall using explosives and he
needed the other two Inhumanoids to lift him up. Earth Force retreated
and the Inhumanoids pressed the attack until the power-hungry human
Blackthorne Shore in advanced armor captured Metlar in a paralyzing
magnetic field and forced the Inhumanoids' compliance. But Earth
Force's Sandra Shore unwittingly distracted Blackthorne and the
Inhumanoids were free, with once Sandra seemingly lost to D'Compose.
Comments: Marvel version created by Jim Salicrup, James W. Fry, Joe DelBeato. Adapted from Flint Dille's original screenplay.
Unfortunately, The
Inhumanoids
comic series, published under Marvel's Star Comics imprint, ended there
without resolution (despite stating "to be continued!"). However, it is
(mostly) an adaptation of the animated
series five-episode storyline "The Evil That Lies Within" by Flint
Dille (original screenplay), wherein Sandra Shore was restored to her
normal self and the Inhumanoids are neutralized. I'd hazard a guess
that the expected fifth issue has unfinished (and unpublished) artwork
out there.
The original Inhumanoids cartoon had a wide array of characters (see the Wikipedia page), some not included in the comic, and included action figures.
