History:
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Cold Comfort") - Multiple Man was grafted onto the government-financed mutant team X-Factor alongside Forge, Havok, Polaris, Quicksilver, Strong Guy and Wolfsbane.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Cold Comfort" (fb) - BTS) - When Forge noticed X-Man Jubilee and former X-Man Iceman broke into their training facility he and X-Factor quickly subdued the duo and tied them to chairs. Multiple Man and X-Factor were unaware that Jubilee had joined Iceman in search of his former girlfriend Polaris who'd become a member of X-Factor after being recruited by Forge in Seattle. But when Forge then witnessed the arrival of X-Men Professor X, Beast, Cyclops and Wolverine, in search of Jubilee and Iceman, he decided a friendly little skirmish with the X-Men could teach X-Factor some good pointers.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Cold Comfort") - Just as Beast, Cyclops and Wolverine revealed their presence to Jubilee and Iceman, planning to apprehend the ice-like mutant, Multiple Man and X-Factor revealed their presence. Eager to test their skills against the X-Men, X-Factor immediately attacked the heroes. During a fierce battle Multiple Man targeted Wolverine and encouraged the X-Man to hit him in the face. However, before Wolverine could do so Multiple Man created eleven dupes with whom he jumped the X-Man. It was Jubilee, while stuck in Quicksilver's whirlwind, who took out Havok with her fireworks. This prompted Xavier to command his X-Men to switch targets after which Iceman helped Wolverine by freezing Multiple Man and his dupes in ice. In the end Forge and Polaris appeared, revealing Polaris wasn't truly missing but had joined with X-Factor and fallen in love with Havok, Forge introduced himself and the team to the X-Men. Cyclops and the X-Men expressed they'd be eager for a rematch after which Iceman and the X-Men left the X-Factor's training facility.
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Xavier Remembers" - BTS) - When a concussion left Charles Xavier's psychic mind open to manipulation, the Shadow King used images of Multiple Man and other friends of Xavier to persuade his adversary to believe he'd reached paradise so he could take possession of Xavier's body.
(X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon - "Lifedeath - Part I" - BTS) - Forge kept a photograph of his X-Factor team in his home, which included Multiple Man.
(X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon - "Remember It" - BTS) - Multiple Man moved to Genosha at an unrevealed point in time. The African island nation had become a mutant paradise, allowing all mutants like Madrox to live in absolute freedom. Madrox soon befriended other mutants like Cipher, Exodus and Dazzler.
(X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon - "Remember It") - The streets of Hammer Bay were filled with festivities and laughter when the United Nations had formally admitted Genosha. Awaiting that night's prestigious Hellfire Gala to celebrate mutant culture, Multiple Man joined his friends Cipher, Exodus and Dazzler in a spectacular dance performance to entertain the Genoshan citizens. Meanwhile the X-Men (Magneto, Gambit and Rogue) arrived to speak with Genosha's Interim Council as they wanted Magneto as their new chancellor of Genosha something which Magneto accepted on the condition that Rogue would rule by his side.
That very night, Multiple Man attended the Hellfire Gala and was seen dancing with Dazzler and Nightcrawler. However, during the gala Genosha was targeted by the techno-organic Sentinel hybrid Bastion who send a monstrous Mastermold to destroy and kill all mutants. As chaos ensued, Mastermold and its Sentinels rendered the island nation to rubble, murdering many mutants like Madrox's friend Dazzler. In the end it was X-Man Gambit who sacrificed himself to successfully destroy Bastion's Mastermold.
(X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon - "Bright Eyes") - Having survived Bastion's devastating attack on Genosha, Multiple Man joined Angel Salvadore, Blob and many others joined a large-scale rescue operation. While relief efforts were underway and the search for survivors continued, Multiple Man's dupes were seen carrying rubble and supplies when the X-Men arrived on Genosha to join the rescue effort. Multiple Man was presumably in the area when Jean Grey and Cyclops pulled the White Queen (Emma Frost) from the rubble.
Comments: Created by Len Wein, Chris Claremont, and John Buscema;
adapted by Len Uhley and AKOM Productions. (see Appearances list for full list of artists)
I was unable to find Multiple Man's voice-actor.
The Sentinel used in the attack on Genosha is generally referred to as either the Tri-Sentinel or a Wild Sentinel, however, the end credits of "Remember It" used Mastermold for it's name.
When, in 2015's Secret Wars, the Multiverse was destroyed following the incursions of planets it appeared as if Reality-92131 was drafted onto Battleworld as the Westchester domain. However, this has since been debunked. As such the reality seen in the two volumes of X-Men '92 (2015 and 2016-2017) now have their own reality-designation of Earth-15730. The X-Men '92: House of XCII (2022) series was inspired by both the animated series and Hickman's House of X run but is its own separate reality. The limited series X-Men '97 (2024), however, is Reality-92131 and bridges the gap between the original X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon and the new X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon.
