(Black Cat I#1 (fb) - BTS) - In his youth, Sonny Ocampo was arrested.
(Black Cat I#2 (fb) - BTS) - After spending time in prison, Ocampo struggled to rebuild his life. He eventually got a job as a security consultant, working with Kevin.
(Black Cat I#1) - Ocampo was placed in charge of the security at an art exhibit called the Frisk Collection. When he saw the Black Cat enter in a dress, he grew immediately concerned, especially when he realized that some of the catering staff had been replaced at the last moment without Ocampo being informed. Not believing that Black Cat was there innocently, Ocampo entered the party to confront her, and she coyly informed him that she never left a party empty-handed as she departed. After Black Cat left, Ocampo learned that a painting was missing, and he immediately rushed after Black Cat's car on his motorcycle. He caught up to her, even as she fended off members of the Thieves Guild, and saw her with her men Boris Korpse and Bruno Grainger. Black Cat accused Ocampo of flirting with her before he lost control of his motorcycle and fell into the water.
(Black Cat I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Ocampo was arrested for the theft of the art but he was released three days later with the charges dropped, though he was fired from his job.
(Black Cat I#2) - Ocampo met with Kevin and complained about his ill fortune, then Odessa Drake pulled up and ordered Ocampo into her car. Ocampo got in reluctantly, and was surprised when Drake offered to hire him as a private investigator to find all he could on Felicia Hardy, the civilian identity of the Black Cat.
(Black Cat I#4) - Ocampo took Kevin with him to stake out the Tinkerer, in hopes of catching the Black Cat. When Kevin saw Black Cat on social media just a few blocks away with the Human Torch, Ocampo got out of the car and sprinted to Four Yancy Street, where he pounded on the door before he was given entry. Bruno Grainger restrained Sonny inside as Black Cat and the Human Torch entered, then a gate to the Negative Zone opened and Blastaar attacked with some Baluurians.
(Black Cat I#5) - As a chaotic battle broke out between Blastaar and the Human Torch, Ocampo confronted Black Cat on her crimes and accused her of trying to steal from the Fantastic Four. Ocampo reluctantly agreed to a truce with Black Cat until the Blastaar situation had resolved itself. During the following conflict, Ocampo hit Blastaar in the face with a chemical gun he'd found, and Black Cat soon banished Blastaar back to the Negative Zone. Invisible Woman and H.E.R.B.I.E. arrived to contain an explosion that resulted in the gate. Ocampo revealed he was working for Odessa Drake, and Black Cat gave him ten thousand dollars cash and a warning to leave Drake behind.
(Black Cat II#4) - Sonny, in business with Kevin, was questioned by Queen Cat, who was posing as Detective Sofia del Giacco. Sonny recognized that she wasn't a cop right away and gave her very little information.
