Powers/Abilities: Ocelot possesses enhanced senses with noticeably pointy ears, catlike reflexes and fangs. His fingers end at the first knuckle, with long and distinctly sharp claws making up the rest of the finger tip. It is unrevealed whether these claws consist of bone, keratin or some other substance, and while they are presumably reasonably durable to be useful in combat, it is not known exactly how tough the material is, nor if they would regrow if broken off. The claws may well make many every day tasks tricky to do, as he would likely cut into most things he tried to pick up - and I do not want to think too deeply about how he... handles himself... going to the toilet. Even if the claws can retract, his manual dexterity would presumably be reduced due to his short fingers, unless the flesh on his hands expands to sheath the claws rather than the claws withdrawing into the hand.

Height: 5'8" (by approximation)
Weight: 145 lbs. (by approximation)
Eyes: Unrevealed
Hair: Black (see comments)

History:
(Excalibur I#63 (fb) - BTS) - A Scot, Ocelot was Warpie, a child transformed by interreality mutagenic radiation released in the UK by Mad Jim Jaspers’ reality warp. After Jaspers died and the warp ended the U.K. government' Resources Control Executive (RCX) gathered as many of the Warpies as they could find and housed them in an underground facility called Cloud Nine, beneath an abandoned church in Liverpool. Though initially the only intention was to keep the children safe, RCX leader Peter saw the Warpies' existence as evidence of a hostile attack on Britain and saw them as potential resources to defend the country. After imprisoning agents who disagreed with this stance, the Warpies were given codenames, mostly along animal, vegetable or mineral lines since there were so many Warpies to name, and were assessed for useful powers, with those possessing any being trained to become elite fighters and government operatives. Like most of the Warpies, Ocelot believed Peter's claims that they were being heroes, and carried out his missions with more noble intentions than the men commanding him.

Seeing the superhero team Excalibur as potential threats to his plans, Peter dispatched teams of Warpies to forcibly bring them into RCX custody. Ocelot was teamed with the superhumanly strong Oak and magnetizing Lodestone to capture Kylun, a mutant with the largely innocuous ability to perfectly reproduce any sound he had ever heard, but who was also a master swordsman who wielded a pair of mystical blades. They were instructed to prevent Kylun making any contact with the public, but to avoid harming him, as Peter had some hopes of convincing Excalibur to work for him.

(Excalibur I#63) - The trio caught up with Kylun as he arrived at his parents' home in the countryside near Edinburgh. Acting on Oak's instructions, Lodestone magnetized their target to bring Kylun flying through the air to them, but overdid it and the flying Kylun nearly hit Ocelot. Dodging thanks to his catlike reflexes, Ocelot voiced his annoyance at the near miss, and, seeing Kylun lying face down on the ground, reminded his fellows that Peter would not be happy if they had harmed their target. A second later his concern earned him a kick to the face, as Kylun revealed he had merely been playing possum while he assessed his opposition. Kylun dodged a blow from Oak, but the already recovered Ocelot pounced on Kylun's back and shredded his jacket with swipes of his claws, calling him an outlaw. Getting annoyed Kylun blocked the next strike from Ocelot with what the unimpressed Warpie assumed was a pouch containing fishing rods, but which he learned were Kylun's enchanted blades as the hero pulled them free of the sliced up pouch. With a fluid move, Kylun sliced one of the blades clean through Ocelot's left forearm, a move that Ocelot realized should have cut his arm clean off. Luckily for the Warpie, the blades were charmed to be intangible against those of pure heart. As Ocelot stood stunned trying to comprehend why he still had an arm, noting that he had both seen and felt the blade cut through it, Kylun also paused fighting, now aware his opponent was not evil as he had assumed, and this left him distracted long enough for Oak to knock him out. The large Warpie congratulated Ocelot on his "bluff," but Ocelot reiterated that he hadn't been joking, still trying to wrap his head around how he had escaped being maimed.

(Excalibur I#63 - BTS) - The trio returned their prisoner to Cloud Nine, where Peter judged that given his detainment had required violence Kylun would not be recruitable, so Kylun was placed in suspended animation alongside the RCX agents who had defied Peter and other Excalibur members who had resisted being recruited.

(Excalibur I#65) - Kylun's Excalibur teammate Nightcrawler managed to find where RCX was holding Kylun and other captives in suspended animation deep within Cloud Nine and freed them all. However, his actions were detected and RCX agent Luke confronted the escapees with the combined forces of the Warpie elite fighters, including Ocelot. Though some of the Warpies had the ability to block the superheroes' powers, they didn't bother to do so for Kylun's seemingly harmless mutant ability of sound reproduction, so he leapt forward aggressively while reproducing the roar of a dangerous predatory animal and began fighting hand to hand, smashing aside Quill, the Warpie crouched in front of Ocelot. Lunging for Kylun, Ocelot shouted that the "daft noises" didn't scare him, but as Kylun had hoped, it had terrified some of the more timid Warpies, most significantly the power-blockers, and with their powers restored the rest of Excalibur joined the fight. A number of the other Warpies, tired of the elite teams getting favored treatment, decided to assist Excalibur, but then Peter arrived with Warpie elite fighter reinforcements. However the fight was brought to an abrupt end when Captain Britain arrived and captured Peter, whose resultant angry tirade exposed his true nature to the Warpies who had previously trusted and thus followed him. With Peter and Like deposed, other RCX members more concerned with the Warpies' well being took over the agency.

(Excalibur I#65 - BTS) - Some of the Warpies had been spontaneously reverting back to being normal humans as the disruption to reality Jaspers had caused slowly abated; it is unrevealed whether Ocelot was among those who depowered after the change in command at RCX.

(Excalibur II#4 (fb) - BTS) - The remaining RCX Warpies were later transferred into the custody of the ruthless Black Air, then rescued from same by the Mastermind computer located under Braddock Manor. Mastermind molded these Warpies into an army to attack Otherworld. If not already depowered, Ocelot was presumably among them.

(Excalibur II#4 - BTS) - After defeating Mastermind, Captain Britain used the mystical Sword of Might to transform all the Warpies on Otherworld back into normal humans. If Ocelot was part of that army, he was presumably depowered at that juncture.

Comments: Created by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer.

Ocelot's accent clearly marks him as being Scottish, which is interesting because we were told a few times that the Jaspers Warp affected pregnancies, causing children to be born Warpies, rather than changing children or adults. However, the Jaspers Warp story was published in 1984, only nine years real world time before Ocelot debuted, and a lot less time within the Marvel Universe (probably two, maximum). Ocelot does not look two years old, or even nine. Perhaps the discrepancy in appearance could be put down to the Warpies growing up extremely fast, but that's where the accent comes in. Most Warpies being visibly different from normal humans, they were swiftly gathered up almost immediately after the Jaspers Warp; if all the Warpies had only been born after the Warp and taken into custody as infants, they should have all had similar accents as they would have been raised together.

We never see Ocelot unmasked, so we get no images showing his eye color or head hair, but we do see clearly his hairy arms, which seem to show black hair.
