In X-Force VI#4 (February, 2020), an image of Hercules and Athena with Pallas at her side is shown.
In ancient mythology, Athena has an owl with her. Pallas is also traditionally an alias for Athena. Pallas looks more like a snowy owl in one image, and more like a barn owl in another. It is possibly a different owl as well.
Why use the name Pallas for her owl? I assume she
named her owl after a childhood friend (not seen at Marvel up to this
point). Pallas was the daughter of Triton, who raised Athena alongside
his own daughter. Athena slew Pallas accidentally in combat and even
used her name as an epithet in honor of her. But there are other
possibilities as well. The giant Pallas, who was flayed by Athena (less
likeley in my opinion). Pallas, the son of Lycaon, a teacher of Athena
(possible, but less interesting IMHO).

The brown version in New Warriors actually looks
like a screech owl. I can see the ones from Incredible Hercules to be
the same, but the one from New Warriors seems to be a different owl. In
the Marvel Pets handbook the first appearance of Pallas was listed as
Incredible Hercules#115, which IMHO confirms the owl in New Warriors
not to be the same. Though there is the possibility that Pallas is not
an actual owl, but some kind of immortal, shapeshifting animal from
Olympus.

There is also an animal in the wild called Pallas' Cat, named after an old zoologist named Peter Pallas.
