Powers/Abilities: While he did not possess any superhuman powers, Peter Parker was a skilled inventor and extremely knowledgeable in science for his age. Using this knowledge and inventiveness, Peter designed mechanical web-shooters that fired chemical webbing as well as a protective costume for his Uncle Ben.

History:

(Spider-Verse Team-Up#3 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, teenager Peter Parker posed for a photo with his microscope.

(Spider-Verse I#1) - After being laughed at, Peter Parker visited a science exhibit on radioactivity experiments, feeling as if those who laughed at him would be sorry. Witnessing a demonstration on how radioactive rays could be controlled in a laboratory, Peter was extremely impressed until he felt a hand on his shoulder. Turning, Peter was surprised to see his Uncle Ben and asked what Ben was doing there. Ben then explained to a smiling Peter that he had taken off work early to see the exhibit with Peter, commenting that while he didn't understand much of the physics, he might get bit by the "science bug" after Peter explained everything to him. Unbeknownst to either Ben or Peter, these events were witnessed in the Great Web of Life and Destiny by Earth-001's Master Weaver.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#13 (fb) - BTS/Secret Wars: Official Guide to the Marvel Multiverse - Spider-Verse entry - BTS) - Instead of Peter, Ben was bitten by a radioactive spider at the exhibit and was granted spider-like superhuman powers.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#13 (fb)) - Peter became extremely excited about Ben's new powers and decided to help his Uncle Ben by designing him a costume and mechanical web-shooters, figuring they could use Ben's powers to make some money. The responsible Ben instead used his powers to become the heroic Spider-Man until one of his enemies, the Emerald Elf, discovered his secret identity and he blew up Ben's home with Peter and his Aunt May inside, killing them both. Feeling as if his powers were a curse that had cost him everyone he loved, Ben retired his heroic identity. Over time, Ben thought that perhaps if he had listened to Peter and only used his powers to benefit his family or to clown around, Peter and May would still be alive.

(Spider-Verse Team-Up#3 (fb) - BTS) - At some point after Ben took to living in a fallout shelter, he put a framed photo of Peter holding a microscope on the wall.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#13 - BTS) - Years later, Ben was found by the Multiversal Spider-Army, who were hiding from Earth-001's vampiric Inheritors, and Ben related his origin story and the story of Peter and May's deaths to the heroes.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#15 - BTS) - Following the Inheritors' defeat, Ben delivered Earth-982's Benjy Parker back to Earth-982 and when Earth-982's Spider-Girl returned from Earth-001, Ben reunited her with her mother, revealing to Earth-982's Mary Jane Watson-Parker that he had lost his reality's Peter Parker.

(Spider-Force#2 - BTS) - When Earth-218's Spider-Kid, Earth-807128's Spider-Woman and Earth-616's Scarlet Spider (Kaine) and Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) arrived on the space platform of Earth-3145's John Jameson, they all telepathically shared glimpses of each other's memories and, after seeing Spider-Kid's memories as his reality's Peter Parker, a surprised Jameson remarked that his Earth-3145's Peter Parker had died years ago.
