    (fully seen, unidentified) Venomverse I#5 (December, 2017);
    (identified) Venomized I#2 (June, 2018)

Powers/Abilities: Despite not outright displaying any direct superhuman powers, the Poison Groot presumably had abilities similar to that of his Reality-616 counterpart, Groot. His form resembled the plant-like form of Reality-616's Groot with various limb-like protrusions sticking out from his body and he was covered in durable, armor-like plating that increased his resistance to physical injury.

Due to its devouring and harvesting of an alien symbiote once bonded to an alternate reality Groot, the Poison Groot possesses residual memories and personality traits of the symbiote's previous host, including Groot's speech patterns.

Presumably, like all other Poisons, the Poison Groot's original form had the ability to bond with alien Klyntar symbiotes and consume the symbiote's previous host for energy, an act that transformed it into a much more powerful form, complete with any superhuman abilities the previous host possessed. It presumably also had a psychic defense mechanism that allowed it to affect the minds of potential victims, creating psychic illusions of its potential victims of someone non-threatening in an effort to get in close to its victim. These abilities would have disappeared upon the Poison's transformation into Poison Groot.

Height: Unrevealed (approximately 6'3")
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 165 lbs.)
Eyes: No visible irises
Hair: None

History:
(Venomverse I#4 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, an extraterrestrial Poison creature devoured an alternate reality Flora colossus known as Groot (possibly from Reality-18197 - see comments) and was transformed into a superpowered form resembling that Groot. Battling Reality-18197's symbiote-empowered Venom Rocket, the Poison Groot was seemingly killed. (see comments)

(Venomverse I#5 (fb) - BTS) - Surviving his encounter with Venom Rocket, the Poison Groot returned to spaceship housing the Poison Thanos and several other Poisons. (see comments)

(Venomverse I#5) - After failing to conquer Earth-22249, the Poison Doctor Doom returned to the Poison Thanos and the Poison Groot and others were by the Poison Thanos' side. As the Poison Groot stood silently, the Poison Thanos remarked that, due to the involvement of a Multiversal Anti-Poison Resistance during the Poison Doom's attempt to conquer Earth-22249, the Poisons now knew that there were many other realities out there and the Poison Thanos announced that the Poisons would conquer them all.

(Venomized I#2) - The Poison Groot was sent to the terraformed island of Mu on Earth-616 with the Poison Spider-Woman, Poison Whirlwind and several other non-transformed Poison as part of a plan by the Poison Thanos to acquire a Poison version of Earth-616's Kid Kaiju. When they arrived at Kid Kaiju's home, they were greeted by the robot H.E.R.B.I.E., who played a message left by monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone explaining how she had gotten Kid Kaiju and his family elsewhere before the Poisons showed up. H.E.R.B.I.E. then continued playing the recording, in which Bloodstone expressed wishes that she could see the Poisons' faces when they realized how they had messed up their mission, before changing its facial expression to anger and playing the portion of the message in which Bloodstone sarcastically told the Poisons to have a nice day. H.E.R.B.I.E. then exploded, seemingly destroying the Poison Groot and all of the Poisons that were with him.

Watching from afar, Elsa Bloodstone noticed a piece of the Poison Groot's body landed near her and she stomped it, remarking on how she had sorted out the situation with the Poisons.

    Poisons consume beings that are bonded to symbiotes. Poisons themselves are from Reality-17952 but many of them devoured an alternate reality superhuman that had been bonded to a symbiote in order to transform into the armored form resembling that superhuman. In this case, a Reality-17952 Poison devoured an alternate reality Groot then transformed into a form resembling a merger of the two.

    Poisons are not identified by name due to their hive mind nature and, as such, one could argue that they were all related to one another in the Hive despite them not being biologically related.

    Despite Elsa Bloodstone stomping on the piece of the Poison Groot's body and squishing it, she really only succeeded into breaking that piece into smaller pieces, one of which she completely destroyed with her boot. However, since not all pieces were incinerated, it's very possible the Poison Groot could grow from the pieces that were left and thereby resurrect itself, given that it it likely had Groot's abilities. Maybe someday the Poison Groot will show back up on Earth-616!

    It is unclear whether the Poison Groot that Reality-18197's Venom Rocket mentions in Venomverse I#4 as having killed is the same Poison Groot seen in Venomverse I#5 and Venomized I#2. IF Venom Rocket did indeed kill a Poison Groot that had devoured Reality-18197's Groot then this profile's Poison Groot would be the second Poison Groot, created when a Poison devoured a different reality's Groot. Personally, I don't see why they would not be the same Poison Groot who devoured Groot-18197, especially since the Poisons assimilate the powers and abilities of those they devour. Venom Rocket could have merely thought he killed the Poison Groot who devoured Groot-18197 but a splinter could have easily survived and regrew into the Poison Groot we see at the end of Venomverse I#5 and in Venomized I#2. I treated the profile as if they are one and the same but if they are indeed two different Poison Groots then this would not have been mentioned in Venomverse I#4 and would not have encountered Venom Rocket at all.

    BIG thanks to Mike Fichera for his assistance in helping approximate the weight of a 6'3" Groot!
