(ToyFare
Spring Special - "Singular Sensation" article) - Due to
unrevealed circumstances, equal parts of the villains Vulture and
Lizard were combined to form the entity known only as Raptor.
Comments: Created by Pablo Raimondi.
The character of Raptor was
created as an action figure prototype sketch by Pablo Raimondi for Toy
Biz's Spider-Man: Arachniphobia toy line. Unfortunately, since the
action figure was never made, we don't have a card or box with flavor
text to give more of a background on the character, other than he mixed
equal parts Vulture and the Lizard.
It is likely that Raptor exists in the same reality as the other Arachniphobia mashup characters, Earth-96201. While we did not have confirmation in the article, Raptor is likely some sort of human mutate, given his lizard-like appearance.
Oh, and for the record, Man-Lizard,
a figure that WAS
released in the Arachniphobia toy line, was a mashup of Spider-Man
& Lizard sort of. While this character, Raptor, appears to be an
amalgamation of Vulture and the actual Lizard, Man-Lizard's mashup
occurred because Dr. Curt Connors used the neogenic recombinator on
Spider-Man during a period where Spider-Man had been transformed into
the monstrous Man-Spider and a freak accident caused some of Dr.
Connors' own DNA to combine with Spider-Man's without any change
whatsoever
to the actual Connors/Lizard.
