History:
(Twitter online post by creator Audra Auclair) - A Canadian living in Tokyo, Japan circa 2045 A.D., the woman known as Ren worked for a low-paying manga company by day. Feeling like an outsider in Japan, the homosexual Ren often befriended and drew birds and enjoyed collecting pins. By night, however, Ren used her future sight abilities to fight corporate criminals who threatened to destroy climate balance and ecosystems and especially enjoyed taking down back alley perverts. Calculating and not above breaking the law for the greater good, Ren's crimefighting persona was not easily pushed around and she was also known to be able to drink anyone under the table.
(Spider-Verse III#4/2) - Due to her personal struggles, Ren sought to control her own sadness, developing the ability to manipulate emotions. Desiring to help those in emotionally difficult positions, Ren began use emotions such as sadness and anger to disrupt her enemies. Capturing one such enemy, Ren hung him upside down via webbing as she sat on a neon sign and prepared for a nighttime meal.

Ren is one of several Spidersona's who appeared in the back-pages of Spider-Verse (2020). "Spidersona" was a hashtag that launched around the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). Amazed at the talent of creativity of people posting their creations online, Marvel reached out to some of these artists to create new Spidersona art especially for the Spider-Verse (2020) series. Every issue showcased several original pieces of Spidersona art by artists from around the globe after which most appeared in the story as well.
The origin of Ren's abilities were not entirely revealed. It is stated that her power to manipulate emotions was born from an attempt to control her own sadness, suggesting that it was a mental ability she developed through training and discipline. It was unclear if her future sight abilities were due to an inherent mutation but that seems somewhat probable since many Multiversal Spider-totems gained their abilities through some sort of mutation.
