Powers/Abilities: Sav'rkk is a Skrull/Shi'ar
hybrid with enhanced durability and quick healing from small wounds,
even surviving briefly in space, He has
excellent hand-to-hand combat
skills. His Skrull physiology dominates but he demonstrates no standard
Skrull shapeshifting abilities. Injured at some point, he initially had
a detachable weapon replacing his right forearm; this
could fire lethal blasts, a grappling hook and had a sharp extended
blade capable of
penetrating hardened surfaces plus electronic devices such as galactic
location identifier. He appears to have other implants (that may serve
as enhancements) and has blue blood. He can ably fly a spaceship. Later
exposure to the cosmic Herald's Urn
restored his right arm. A gambler and chaos-driven, he is relentless
and
murderous in seeking to
achieve his mercenary work.

History:
(Yondu I#1 (fb) - BTS) - M'kraan leaders sought to
create a new M'kraan Crystal using the priceless
Herald's Urn, which had the power to restore and destroy on a cosmic
scale, reflecting the user's nature. The M'kraan initially hired the
Ravagers to acquire the Urn, but the freebooters were slain before
Yondu Udonta's
arrival, leaving the Urn in his hands. So the M'kraan hired the savage
Sav'rkk to retrieve the Urn and he took up Yondu's trail.
(Yondu I#1) - Sav'rkk went to Yondu's apartment on
Eyefelle 66 and killed the guard after
finding out Yondu had fled off-planet.
(Yondu I#2) - Sav'rkk landed on planet
Contraxia shortly after Yondu. He bullied a street stallholder into a
potentially lethal gamble. This brief encounter was mystically observed
by a
concerned Yondu Udonta (future Earth-691), who had traveled back in
time to
help his ancestor, and he soon met
Yondu-616. Sav'rkk savagely pursued Yondu-616, slaying many,
including Yondu-616's ex-girlfriend Zhala, who ran a club on Contraxia,
but not before Zhala put Yondu-616 in touch with crimelord Skreet as a
buyer for the Urn.
Finding the two Yondus, Sav'rkk attacked. Both Centaurians were
overwhelmed and Yondu-616 opened the cosmic Urn in defense, unleashing
cosmic
energies.
(Yondu I#3) - The Herald's Urn
transported the two Yondus and the severely injured Sav'rkk to the planet
Galador, long thought destroyed. The two Yondus wandered off, unaware
of Sav'rkk, who was attended to by Galadorians. The Skrull hybrid quickly
healed and agreed to keep Galador's slow revival a secret due to its
survival sowing a small seed of chaos in the universe. Sav'rkk caught
up with the Yondus, but they escaped with the Urn and fled in a
spaceship.
(Yondu I#4) - Yondu-691 helped Yondu-616 start to reclaim his
noble Centaurian heritage. Meanwhile, Sav'rkk had recovered his
spaceship and found them, brutally striking again. Yondu-616 used
Centaurian Yaka arrows to distract Sav'rkk from delivering a fatal blow
to Yondu-691.
(Yondu I#5) - Sav'rkk instead attacked Yondu-616, so
Yondu-691 used the Urn; Yondu-691's good nature released power that
restored Sav'rkk's arm. With the mercenary distracted, the Yondus
pushed him into space. The Yondus thought it best to deliver the Urn to
Skreet's Bahamut Crime Syndicate to end the deadly pursuit, but at the
meeting place on Anthos, the sudden arrival
of Sav'rkk and a contingent of M'kraan soldiers led to a deadly battle
between all involved.
The Yondus decided not to let the Urn fall into anyone else's hand and
sought to escape with it. Sav'rkk stopped them with a gun; Yondu-691
took the blast intended for Yondu-616 and fired a dozen Yaka arrows at
the mercenary. Both Sav'rkk and Yondu-691 apparently died. Yondu-616
refused to use the Herald's Urn to resurrect anyone, knowing his nature
may have dire results.
Comments: Created by Zac Thompson, Lonnie Nadler, John McCrea.
Sav'rkk appears to be a weakened Skrull, but may
indeed be a Skrull/Shi'ar hybrid. He is asked in issue #2 if he was
half Skrull, half Strontian and he responds with "Shi'ar". That may
have been a dismissive remark to a stranger as he looks nothing like
Shi'ar, but it's more likely he was identifying the other half of his
genetic background. Given his character, I'm not sure why he'd identify himself to a complete stranger.
The M'kraan race are also known as the Scy'ar Tal race.
