Shay has developed a teleportation chamber with a vast power source, one that bends space through another dimension to allow a person to travel to a predetermined point. Shay also has access to the resources of G.I.R.L.

History:
(Unstoppable Wasp II#6 (fb) - BTS) - Priscilla Lashayla "Shay" Smith grew up with her mother and father in New York City. Shay's mother worked as an actress, once kissing Simon Williams in a movie, and she eventually moved to Los Angeles to do more acting, working in a soap opera there. Shay stayed with her father, who loved her but didn't make much money, and had only limited contact with her mother. Shay's mother was regularly critical of Shay, commenting on her sense of style and appearance, and she disapproved of Shay's interest in science. When Shay started dressing more androgynously, Mrs. Smith was critical of her and tried convincing Mr. Smith that they needed to intervene, but he refused.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Shay struggled to make friends at school as she was more focused on books and learning instead on looks like many of the other girls. Her father worried about how isolated she was regularly, though when Shay tried making one friend, her father was frustrated with how dumb the girl seemed. After Shay's parents divorced and her mom moved, she struggled with depression and isolation, as her dad was busy a lot, and girls started bullying her at school. One day, she got the idea to build a teleporter so she could see both parents whenever she wanted, and she began working on it immediately. Shay studied theoretical physics late at the library on multiple nights, and received encouragement from Neil DeGrasse Tyson during a visit to the Hayden Planetarium. During one experiment on a prototype teleporter, Shay accidentally propelled herself through a window and broke her tailbone in the landing. She couldn't sit comfortably for two months.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#3) - Shay propelled herself through the window again, this time wearing a helmet, and was hoping she didn't break her tailbone again, but the Wasp caught her, breaking her fall. Shay met Wasp and Edwin Jarvis, then was offered a position on the G.I.R.L. team of scientists. Shay teased Jarvis by calling him 'Bates' and 'Carlson' repeatedly as she watched a hologram video on G.I.R.L. and immediately chose to join, signifying her willingness with a high five to Wasp. Shay's father (home from his I.T. job) got home and yelled about the broken window, but he was soon enthusastic to learn about G.I.R.L. and gave his permission for Shay to join, though Shay was embarrassed by how he told stories about her.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#5) - Nadia called Shay in to the G.I.R.L. lab, where Shay (bringing coffee for the others) met the other members of G.I.R.L., including Priya Aggarwhal, Lexi Miranda, Tai Miranda, and Ying Liu. Nadia shared her origin story, of having been trained as an assassin by the Red Room, before she escaped. She explained that Ying had just escaped the Red Room, but now she had a bomb attached to her neural system and they needed G.I.R.L. to find a way to deactivate it. They worked through the entire day and night, eating meals (with Shay getting a veggie burger) and crashing on the couches, as they worked through ideas. The next day, Matt Murdock showed up to check on Nadia (working as her immigration attorney), then they got a call from Mother, of the Red Room, who demanded that Nadia turn herself in or Ying would be killed.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#6) - As Wasp turned herself in to the Red Room, Shay and the others in G.I.R.L. designed some of the Vision's old gloves to be able to reach in and remove the bomb, intangibly, from Ying's skull. When the gloves were finished, Shay gladly put them on and tested them on Jarvis' head before removing Ying's bomb. Shay removed the bomb then threw it outside, where she happened to see Red Room agents with guns after she'd already thrown the bomb; the explosion defeated the agents. Wasp returned and defeated the rest of the Red Room agents with Daredevil, but inside Ying collapsed, complaining of a pain in her head.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#7) - Shay watched as S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived to contain the Red Room threat and get Ying medical help. Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) arrived and met the G.I.R.L. team.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#8 (fb) - BTS) - After hearing about G.I.R.L., Shay's mom refused to let her continue to attend, but Janet called Shay's mom and told her that Shay had been selected for an internship to Pym Labs. Shay's mom enthusiastically gave her permission for Shay to continue.

(Unstoppable Wasp I#8) - Shay showed up at the new G.I.R.L. labs that Janet had sponsored. She hugged Nadia and then Ying, who thanked Shay for helping to save her. Shay thought Ying smelled wonderful. Shay was overwhelmed with the new lab and met Mockingbird. Later, Janet took Shay and the others shopping for new clothes. Shay was shocked when Ying started dancing with her, and they both expressed their desire to date each other. For the next few months, Shay focused on getting her teleportation gate working, and was excited to unveil it for the G.I.R.L. team.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#6 (fb) - BTS) - Shay came out of the closet to her father and friends, and they were supportive. She avoided her mother.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#1 (fb) - BTS) - Shay and Ying began spending more time together, and Ying began listening to all of Shay's music.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#1) - In her room, Shay watched Ying dance while studying and wondered if she was supposed to make the next move between them. The G.I.R.L. team gathered, each piloting a drone (each drone equipped with weaponry and phasing technology) from afar as Wasp infiltrated an A.I.M. base, where A.I.M. soldiers were being led by Seeker. Shay piloted a purple drone, taking out a few A.I.M. agents. When Nadia returned from her mission, Shay and the others told her that their G.I.R.L. expo, where they could showcase their developments, had been scheduled two weeks away.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#2) - Shay worked on her projects in the lab.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#3 (fb) - BTS) - A.I.M., including members Brilliance, Finesse, and Seeker, attacked the G.I.R.L. lab, and Seeker took Shay hostage.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#3) - Seeker was demanding to know all about Shay's teleportation gate when Ying attacked her, calling Shay her girlfriend as she defended her. Shay pushed a button on Seeker's jetpack, sending her careening away, then she kissed Ying on the cheek, thrilled about the change in their relationship status. They soon discovered that Priya had been hit by an unfamiliar gas and rushed her to the hospital.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#4) - After getting medical help for Mockingbird, who had a broken leg after the fight, Shay and the others waited for Priya to recover and then get released from the hospital. Back at the G.I.R.L. lab, they wondered where Nadia had gotten off to, and they discovered a chalkboard full of notes of things that Nadia wanted to fix, with mentioned Shay having mother issues and wrestling with fear. Janet explained that Nadia was likely having a manic episode, part of Nadia's untreated bipolar disorder. Soon Nadia emerged from her miniaturized lab and the others encouraged her to get some food and rest, but Nadia refused. Shay grabbed on to Nadia's arm, refusing to let go until her friend got some help, and Nadia threw Shay across the room in response. Ying then punched Nadia, ready for a fight.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#5) - Shay tried keeping Nadia's miniature lab away from her until Janet returned, but Nadia grew increasingly violent with the others. Shay finally surrendered the lab, then she embraced Ying, calling Ying her girlriend as well, pleasing Ying. Feeling she couldn't help Nadia anymore, Shay took Ying for a walk.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#6 (fb) - BTS) - Having not seen her mom in years, Shay set her portal to go to Los Angeles, and set up a dinner with her mom. She invited Ying to accompany her.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#6) - Mockingbird and Janet helped Ying and Shay get ready, then they headed to Hollywood to meet Mrs. Smith. Shay tried warming up to her mother, but Mrs. Smith was immediately critical of Shay's dress, her interest in science, and her weight, as well as Mr. Smith's ability to provide for Shay. Shay nervously introduced Ying as her friend and lab partner, so nervous to come out to her mother, but when she realized that Ying was feeling insecure, Shay came out abruptly, admitting that she was gay. Mrs. Smith expressed disappointment in Shay and criticized her more, and Shay fled from the table in tears. Ying told Mrs. Smith off and then walked away with Shay. They shared their first kiss then went back through the portal to be with their friends.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#7) - At Nadia's birthday party, Shay saw Ying and Nadia celebrating Ying and Shay's first kiss. Riri Williams admired Shay's teleportation door and asked to learn more about it, promising to let Shay test out the Ironheart armor if she showed her. Shay confided in Ying that her teleportation chamber seemed less impressive when compared with people with super-powers, such as Ms. America, who could teleport at will. When the Menagerie attacked, Shay took cover.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#8 (fb) - BTS) - Shay set up an experiment with Tigra for the expo.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#8) - As they got ready for the expo, Shay let Janet know that Ying and Nadia were exercising. They soon launched the expo for young scientists, and Shay's turn came up, but Tigra was non responsive. Believing Tigra was ready, Shay activated her teleportation door, but A.I.M. agents passed through instead, including Dr. Monica Rappaccinni, Finesse, Brilliance, Fantasma, and Seeker. Finesse knocked Shay back before she could close the gate.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#9) - Shay watched quietly as the A.I.M. agents argued with each other over tactics, then Seeker raised a mini-volcano in an attempt to intimidate the others.

(Unstoppable Wasp II#10) - While they remained captive, Shay asked Ying for a kiss even as Priya, with her new plant control powers, turned against A.I.M. Taina drove a car through the wall to rescue Shay and the others. Monica threatened to walk through the gate and then destroy it after her, and Shay warned her that that could cause the dimension through which space was being folded open up, pulling buildings and people inside, but Monica did it anyway. Shay managed to shut down the portal, but was knocked out afterward. As Shay got medical help, her dad commended Ying on being such a positive influence in Shay's life. Shay woke up to realize she now had a lightning bolt scar on her chest, and learned that Finesse, Brilliance, and Seeker had joined G.I.R.L.

(It's Jeff Infinity Comic#1) – Shay Smith went with Ying and Wasp to a pool party with many heroes, and she grew concerned seeing Jeff the Land-Shark there.
