History:
(Bob Quinn's twitter) - After manifesting her peculiar mutant abilities Soft Serve became a big fan of mutant assassin Eye-Scream, who, like her, had ice cream-related abilities.
(Way of X I#2 - BTS) - Soft Serve was one of the many mutants who accepted the invitation to live on the sovereign mutant island nation of Krakoa, ruled by the Quiet Council.
(Way of X I#2) - Waiting to attend Krakoa's first Hellfire Gala, Soft Serve, dressed in a glamorous gown, began handing out her ice creams to her fellow mutants.
(X-Men VI #8 - BTS) - Indirectly inspired by mutants such as Soft Serve, Forge created a prototype Krakoan battle suit meant for mutants without any offensive capabilities. In a letter to Scott Summers, who was to test the suit in his new role as Captain Krakoa, Forge explained it was intended for people like Artie Maddicks, Cypher or Soft Serve, mentioning she made the best ice cream he'd ever had and her country needed to be there for her.
Comments: Created by Bob Quinn.
Soft Serve was the comedic creation of Bob Quinn who has since revealed multiple details of this peculiar mutant through Twitter. All information in this profile has been taken from his account. Although none of this information has been published in print it's not uncommon for creators to share in continuity facts about their creations for instance Alan Davis had shared extensive facts of his beloved ClanDestine or even more recently New Mutants writer Vita Ayala revealed names and backstories for many of they're mutant creations.
Soft Serve "originally" had the ability to poop ice cream but this was later changed to her body being a portal to the ice cream dimension where unicorns roam, obviously.
Obviously Quinn's been pushing for her own solo-book ever since.
Soft Serve is one of the many new mutants introduced during the Krakoan age, but one of the few who's been identified. Others include Abeni, Aphelion (Reed Fox), Markos Argyros, Bad Guy (Gabe), Brutha Nature (Jacob Williams), Aura Charles, Paulie DiCosta, Curse, D-Cel (Miranda Manuel), Leonara Eng, Escapade (Shela Sexton), Faceshopper (Soph), Fauna (Desmond Ochoa-Diaz), Fish, Galura (Gabrielle Diwa), Gimmick (Carmen Cruz), Good Arson (Rex Ridley), Harmonize (ZZ Phalen), Jellick, Jersey Devil, Julia, Kafka, Kappa (Megan Ogawa), Kayla, Liana, Christopher O'Leary, Cam Long, Lost (Marinette), Pity Girl (Nora Kuang), Morgan Red, Rosie Rodriguez, Monica Sellers, Sights, Somnus (Carl Valentino), Sonos Rex and Wrench.
