History:
(Alpha: Big Time#5 (fb) - BTS) - Growing up, Susan Rice's mother called
her Soupcan. After her mother died, she kept going by Soupcan to honor
her mom. In time, she got many facial piercings.
(Alpha: Big Time#1) - Considered low in the social pecking order at school in Pittsburgh, PA, Soupcan sat at a lunch table with other social rejects, including Duncan Kilgore and Andy Maguire, a former teen super hero named Alpha who had lost his powers. When a jock threw food at Maguire, Rice was annoyed as some almost got on her.
(Alpha: Big Time#2) - At her job as a waitress at the Eat-A-Lot, Soupcan had to remove her piercings, so Maguire didn't initially recognize her when she waited on him. She told Maguire to stop looking at her butt, then she was annoyed when he ran out before receiving his order. Back at school, Soupcan yelled at Maguire, saying she had to pay for his order out of her own tips. Maguire grew defensive and yelled about his responsibilities as a super hero, now that his powers were back, and Soupcan calmed down, laughing with him.
(Alpha: Big Time#3) - At the Eat-A-Lot, Soupcan was talking on the phone to Andy about being bored when the place next door caught on fire, and it quickly spread to the restaurant. Alpha rushed there and saved her. Soupcan revealed she knew that Alpha was Maguire, and told him not to call her Susan, as she considered that her slave name. Soupcan told Alpha up front that while she found him cute, she would never be his girlfriend and she was put off by the super hero thing. Later, Alpha flew by her window and heard Soupcan tell a friend she found Maguire cute.
(Alpha: Big Time#4) - At school, Andy tried flirting with Soupcan, but she ignored him and finally told him to back off.
(Alpha: Big Time#5 (fb) - BTS) - Soupcan heard about Alpha saving people at a hospital and teaming up with Spider-Man. She also began working to restore her restaurant after the fire.
(Alpha: Big Time#5) - Alpha showed up at the restaurant and Soupcan confessed she liked him, then he asked her to dinner. When he asked if he could call her Susan instead, she told him why her name was Soupcan, and then realized he assumed it was her name due to her piercings. A man working for Boss Cohen (one of Alpha's foes) fired at Soupcan, but Alpha caught the bullet. Later, shaken, she refused to eat with him.
