History:
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (fb) - BTS) - The Technomancer Corporation were considered one of the world's most powerful financial institutions with countless agents and attorneys battling daily in the turbulent waters of international law and geopolitical mergers. Most people were unaware that they were just a front for a secret society of scientists and theurgists known as the Brotherhood of Technomancer that used technology and the arcane to acquire power of natural and supernatural nature. They had a strict hierarchy and were led by the most elite members known as the Dark Chamber.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#32 (fb) - BTS) - One of the stone facets needed for the Gathering of the Five was in the order's possession for nearly forty years. Maegis Hamilton Cromwell was in charge of looking after the facet and gained all the knowledge needed about the ritual from old grimoires. He never managed to gather the other facets and didn't even know where the center piece was since it had not been seen since the 12th century.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (fb) - BTS) - Gunther Senreich impressed many other Technomancers when he became Maegis at a very young age.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#22 (fb) - BTS) - The Technomancers built the Babylon Portal using science and magic.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21) - Master Om arrived at the Aleister Building in a helicopter with a secure box. He ordered a Neomancer to bring the artifact to the Astrum Theater (the observatory) and threatened his life if it got damaged. Om then headed down to sub-basement 2 where Maegis Senreich was running a program to scan for reality frequencies for the Babylon Portal. Om informed Senreich that he had delivered the Sphere of Sara-Kath and that it was brought to the observatory at that moment. Senreich was sure that acquiring this artifact would get him a seat within the Dark Chamber. As Senreich headed upstairs Om asked him if he didn't want to shut down the program running within the Babylon Portal first, but Senreich informed him that even if a proper combination was found it would need an incredible amount of energy to open a portal. They didn't notice that energy crackled right behind them because the mere presence of the Sphere of Sara-Kath in the building was enough to power the Babylon Portal.
While everyone else as upstairs in the Astrum Theater to see Senreich's newest acquisition, the Sphere of Sara-Kath, two Neomancers guarded the door that led to the Babylon Portal. They opened the door when they heard chittering inside and were attacked by Gremlyns.
Spider-Man felt power emanating from the Aleister Building during the day.
Senreich still couldn't get over the fact that the Technomancers were now in possession of the Sphere of Sara-Kath. He believed that the Sphere would make the Technomancers unstoppable. He was trying to grab the Sphere with gloves when one of the guards from the Babylon Portal arrived upstairs in a panic and told Senreich and Om that something had come through the portal. On the side of the head the flesh of the Neomancer's head was transformed into a screaming Gremlyn head.
Senreich, Om and a bunch of Neomancers were running downstairs to the Babylon Portal and found the second guard on the ground. They were shocked to see Buel the Gremlyn Lord and his Gremlyns in the lab.
Spider-Man was drawn to the Aleister Building by a strange sensation.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#22) - While scanning for disturbances Doctor Strange felt that something bad was going on in the Aleister Building. He found Spider-Man nearby and removed the spell that masked how infested the building already was with cancerous evils from other dimensions. Inside the building Senreich and Om were held down by Gremlyns while Buel revealed his history to them and showed them his power to reform flesh on the faces of Om and Senreich.
Outside Strange revealed to Spider-Man that the Sphere of Sara-Kath was inside and was responsible for powering a dimensional portal that put the interior of the Aleister Building in a constant state of flux and allowed it to be infested with extradimensional beings and several portals to other dimensions. Doctor Strange remained outside and used all his concentration to freeze the flux to allow Spider-Man to get to remove the Sphere of Sara-Kath. Spider-Man still felt that something was calling him from inside the building. Doctor Strange sent Spider-Man through the Babylon Portal and followed him in his astral form. Spider-Man passed through several dimensions until he reached Buel and his Gremlyns with their prisoners Senreich and Om. Buel fled when he realized that Spider-Man was not alone and sent two Gremlyns, transformed into an ogre, after him. Without Doctor Strange's astral form Spider-Man was once again faced by Buel, who was sure that he was no match for him now.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#23) - Inside the Aleister Building Buel took a few shots at Spider-Man, but only hit his own Gremlyns while Doctor Strange took care of the Gremlyns outside after realizing that they were not an ogre. Spider-Man managed to toss Buel through a dimensional portal and the Gremlyns followed their master. Doctor Strange's astral form returned and scolded Senreich and Om for their carelessness. Senreich and Om stayed behind while Spider-Man and Strange jumped into another portal. Buel and his Gremlyns returned and dragged Senreich and Om along with him. Eventually all parties arrived at the Astrum Theater where the Sphere of Sara-Kath was surrounded by portals to other dimensions. Buel got his hands on the Sphere, but Doctor Strange's physical form entered the building to block Buel's magic blasts. Om tackled Buel, who transformed his whole body while Spider-Man caught the Sphere. Spider-Man took the Sphere outside the building and jumped down through writhing flesh tentacles to reach the Babylon Portal in sub-basement 2. He tossed the Sphere at the Babylon Portal and wished that the portal would disappear, which it did. Buel and his Gremlyns vanished as well. Doctor Strange was sure that Senreich and Om, who was back in his human form, had learned their lesson, but he would keep an Eye of Agamotto on the Technomancers.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#32) - At the Aleister Building Norman Osborn met with Dark Chamber member Hamilton Cromwell. Guarded by Neomancers they discussed the Gathering of the Five ritual and the stone pieces each of them possessed for the ritual. Motivated by the fact that Osborn was in possession of the center piece; Cromwell showed Osborn his stone piece that was kept in the sub-basement of the Aleister Building. Cromwell warned Osborn of the ritual after feeling the forces only two pieces possessed together. Cromwell was not willing to participate in the Gathering of the Five and also didn't want to sell his stone piece. He instead called Osborn's plan insane and had Osborn and his associate Greg Herd (the super-villain Override) shown out by Neomancers.
Osborn sent Override back to the Aleister Building to steal the Technomancers' stone piece for the Gathering of the Five. Override was unaware that he was followed by Spider-Man, who as shocked when Override caused two Neomancers to shoot each other. Override deactivated the lasers to get his hands on the stone piece, but was attacked by Spider-Man, who temporarily took the piece from him. Override regained the piece and fled from the room after reactivating the lasers so they would kill Spider-Man. Override ran from a few Neomancers and ended up in the Aleister Building's Menagerie where monsters were kept imprisoned by the Technomancers. Seeing how scared the Neomancers were of the monsters, Override used his powers to release one of them. Spider-Man came to the aid of the Neomancers, but was forced to let Override escape with the stone piece to save the Neomancers from the monster. The monster followed Spider-Man through a castle gate, which Spider-Man activated to decapitate the monster.

I am pretty sure the Babylon Portal didn't look like a Stargate from the 1994 movie and later TV series by accident.
Aleister Building like in famous occultist Aleister Crowley.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Technomancers should not be confused with:
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (fb) - BTS) - The Aleister Building was the headquarter of the Technomancer Corporation. It was built in a partially gothic and contemporary style. (Sensational Spider-Man I#21) - Master Om arrived in a helicopter on the building's helipad. The building got infested with extradimensional beings after the Babylon Portal opened extradimensional portals throughout the building after it was powered by the energies emitted from the Sphere of Sara-Kath. A mystic spell masked the infestation from the eyes of the general public. (Sensational Spider-Man I#22 (fb) - BTS) - The building was in a constant state of flux and constantly opened portals to other dimensions. (Sensational Spider-Man I#22) - Doctor Strange and Spider-Man arrived at the building and Doctor Strange removed the spell that hid the infestation to show Spider-Man how bad the situation already was. Doctor Strange used his full concentration to freeze the flux in the building to allow Spider-Man to make his way through the building to remove the Sphere of Sara-Kath. Doctor Strange's astral form followed Spider-Man on his quest. They made their way from the Babylon Portal through a few portals until they were faced by Buel and his Gremlyns. (Sensational Spider-Man I#23) - Spider-Man hurled Buel through a portal to another dimension and then continued his way with Doctor Strange's astral form at his side to the top of the building where the Sphere of Sara-Kath was kept. After getting his hands on the Sphere Spider-Man jumped to the outside and made his way down the wall through writhing flesh tentacles to sub-basement 2 where he tossed the Sphere at the Babylon Portal, which Spider-Man wished to disappear, which it did. The infestation of the building, Buel and his Gremlyn vanished as well. (Sensational Spider-Man I#32) - Norman Osborn met with Maegis Cromwell at the Aleister Building. Cromwell eventually took Osborn to the sub-basement were one of the facets needed for the Gathering of the Five ritual was kept. He got rid of Osborn and his associate Greg Herd, who later returned as Override to the building to steal the facet. He succeeded after releasing a creature from the Menagerie, which forced Spider-Man, who had followed Override, to let the villain escape with the facet because he had to save Neomancers from the creature. --Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (Sensational Spider-Man I#21-23, 32 |
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (fb) - BTS) - The Babylon Portal was built by the Neomancers using a combination of magic and science. (Sensational Spider-Man I#21) - Maegis Senreich ran a program within the Babylon Portal that scanned for reality frequencies that could open portal to other dimensions. He didn't terminate the program when he headed upstairs to the Astrum Theater because the Babylon Portal needed access to large amount of energy to open a portal. He was unaware that the mere presence of the Sphere of Sara-Kath in the building was enough the give the Babylon Portal enough power to open interdimensional portals. The Babylon Portal opened a portal to the dimension where Buel was imprisoned and ruled over Gremlyns, which allowed them to escape to Earth. Meanwhile the Babylon Portal opened more portals throughout the building. (Sensational Spider-Man I#22) - The Babylon Portal kept the entire building in a state of constant flux, opening doorways throughout the building and infesting it with creatures from other dimensions. Doctor Strange froze the flux while Spider-Man entered the building through the Babylon Portal alongside Doctor Strange's astral form. They made their way through several portals until Spider-Man met Buel. (Sensational Spider-Man I#23) - They continued their way after temporarily getting rid of Buel and his Gremlyns, who were not far behind them. Eventually all parties reached the Sphere of Sara-Kath and after Spider-Man got his hands on it he took it to sub-basement 2 and tossed it at the Babylon Portal while wishing that the portal would disappear, which it did. --Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (Sensational Spider-Man I#21-23 |
(Sensational Spider-Man I#32 (fb) - BTS) - He was still a young man when he was put in charge to look after a stone fragment needed for the Gathering of the Five. He had plans to gather the five stones to gain unspeakable powers. He looked after it for nearly forty years and gained knowledge about the ritual from old grimoires, but never found out were the center piece was. As Cromwell became older he changed his mind and didn't want to take the risk anymore. (Sensational Spider-Man I#32) - Hamilton Cromwell was a fifth degree Maegis within the Necromancers and a member of their elite Dark Chamber. Norman Osborn met with Cromwell at the Aleister Building. The meeting was heavily guarded by Neomancers. They talked about fragments needed for the Gathering of the Five ritual. While Cromwell admitted to be in possession of one of the pieces, he assured Osborn that it was useless with the other three pieces and the long-lost centerpiece. Osborn showed him that he had the centerpiece, which motivated Cromwell to take Osborn down to the sub-basement and show him the piece that was in the Necromancers' possession. Even with two pieces Cromwell felt the ravenous forces and warned Osborn of performing the ritual. Cromwell was neither will to sell his piece to Osborn nor to participate in the ritual. Cromwell ordered the Neomancers to show Osborn and his associate Dr. Greg Herd (the costumed super-villain Override) out of the building. Osborn later sent Override to the Aleister Building to steal Cromwell's piece. He succeeded. --Sensational Spider-Man I#32 |
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21 - BTS) - The Dark Chamber were the elite of the Necromancers. Senreich sought to impress them to become one of them.
(Sensational Spider-Man I#32 - BTS) - Hamilton Cromwell was a member of the Dark Chamber.

(Sensational Spider-Man I#21) - Master Om delivered the Sphere of Sara-Kath to the Aleister Building and had it brought to the Astrum Theater while he headed to sub-basement 2 to inform Maegis Senreich that the Sphere was at that very moment delivered to the Astrum Theater. He asked why Senreich didn't shut down the program running within the Babylon Portal while they headed upstairs, but Senreich assured him that it couldn't open a portal because it had no access to enough energy. Om was present while Senreich gawked at the Sphere of Sara-Kath. A mutated Neomancer arrived to tell Senreich and Om that something had come through the Babylon Portal. Om and Senreich quickly headed to sub-basement 2 with several Neomancers and found Buel and his Gremlyns. (Sensational Spider-Man I#22) - Senreich and Om were held down while Buel told them his origin and showed them his flesh-controlling powers on their own faces. Om and Senreich were standing helpless behind Buel and his Gremlyns when Spider-Man arrived with Doctor Strange's astral form and got into a fight with Buel. (Sensational Spider-Man I#23) - After Spider-Man tossed Buel through a portal, Doctor Strange's astral form scolded Om and Senreich for calling on the power of the Sphere of Sara-Kath, which had caused all the chaos. Om raised his fists, but Strange suggested to him to put them down or else. Om and Senreich stayed behind while Spider-Man and Doctor Strange's astral form continued their voyage through dimension to the top of the building. Buel and his Gremlyns returned, but took Om and Senreich with him because he still had plans for them. Buel arrived with his captives closely behind Spider-Man and got his hands on the Sphere of Sara-Kath. Om tackled Buel from behind and got his whole body transformed by Buel for his audacity. He returned to normal after Spider-Man used the Sphere of Sara-Kath to make the Babylon Portal vanish. After everything was over Strange was sure that Om and Senreich had learned their lesson, but promised them that he would keep an Eye of Agamotto on them. --Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (Sensational Spider-Man I#21-23 |
The Menagerie housed a couple of monsters in tube-like cells. Override fled to the Menagerie from Neomancers and used his technology-controlling powers to release one of the monsters. Spider-Man came to the aid of the Neomancers against the monster, but Override escaped with the stolen stone piece needed for the Gathering of the Five. --Sensational Spider-Man I#32 |
Neomancers were the Technomancers' foot soldiers and probably lowest in the packing order. (Sensational Spider-Man I#21) - Neomancers guarded the helipad on top of the Aleister Building and welcomed Master Om when he arrived in a helicopter. He ordered one of the Neomancers to bring the box with the Sphere of Sara-Kath to the Astrum Theater while another Neomancer told Om that Senreich was waiting for his arrival in sub-basement 2 at the Babylon Portal. Two Neomancers guarded the room with the Babylon Portal when they heard chittering inside. They opened the door and were attacked by Gremlyns. One of the guards with the flesh on the side of his head mutated into a Gremlyn face, made it to the Astrum Theater where he told Senreich and Om that something has come through the Babylon Portal. Senreich and Om took a few Neomancers downstairs to deal with the problem and found Buel and his Gremlyns. (Sensational Spider-Man I#32) - Neomancers guarded the meeting between Hamilton Cromwell and Norman Osborn at the Aleister Building. They later showed out Osborn and Greg Herd when Cromwell had enough of Osborn. They later failed to stop Override from stealing the piece Osborn tried to get from Cromwell in the first place. Override caused two Neomancers to accidentally shot each other and then fled from more Neomancers into the Menagerie. He freed one of the imprisoned monsters, forcing Spider-Man, who had followed him to the building, to let Override escape while he helped save the Neomancers from the monster. The monster was decapitated by the building's castle gate when it went after Spider-Man, who activated the gate to close. --Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (Sensational Spider-Man I#21, 32 |
(Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (fb) - BTS) - Gunther Senreich impressed many when he rose to the rank of a Maegis in the Brotherhood of Technomancer at a very young age. (Sensational Spider-Man I#21) - Maegis Senreich was waiting for Master Om's arrival while working in sub-basement 2 running a program within the Babylon Portal to scan for reality frequencies. When Om finally got there Senreich was ecstatic when he learned that Om had delivered the Sphere of Sara-Kath. He was sure that acquiring the sphere would get him a seat within the Dark Chamber of the Technomancers. He headed upstairs and didn't shut down the program within the Babylon Portal because, as he explained to Om, it didn't have access to the energy it needed to open a portal. In the Astrum Theater Senreich looked at the Sphere of Sara-Kath and made plans for the future. He was sure the unlimited mystical energies of the Sphere could make the Technomancers an unstoppable force in international financial development and arcanic corporate takeovers. He put on gloves and tried to grab the Sphere when a guard from sub-basement 2 arrived and revealed that something had come through the Babylon Portal. Senreich and Om headed downstairs with a group of Neomancers to deal with the situation and found Buel and his Gremlyns at the Babylon Portal. (Sensational Spider-Man I#22) - Senreich and Om were held down by Gremlyns while Buel told them his origin and showed them his powers by mutating the flesh of their faces temporarily. They were standing helplessly behind Buel and the Gremlyns when Spider-Man arrived with Doctor Strange's astral form. (Sensational Spider-Man I#23) - Doctor Strange's astral form scolded Senreich and Om for tapping into the power of the Sphere of Sara-Kath and causing all the chaos after Buel was tossed to another dimension through a portal. Spider-Man and Strange continued their way through other dimensions to reach the Sphere of Sara-Kath at the top of the building. Buel followed them and took Senreich and Om with him because he had still plans for them. Senreich did nothing when Buel got his hands on the Sphere of Sara-Kath, but Om tackled Buel. Spider-Man got his hands on the Sphere, took it to sub-basement 2 and wished the Babylon Portal to disappear, which it did after he tossed the Sphere at it. After everything was over Strange was sure that Senreich and Om had learned their lesson, but promised that he would keep an Eye of Agamotto on them. --Sensational Spider-Man I#21 (Sensational Spider-Man I#21-23 |
