YORITES
Classification: Semi-humanoid extraterrestrial race
Location/Base of Operations: Planet Yor, star system and galaxy unrevealed
Known Members: Adula (deceased), Adulaysha (deceased)
Affiliations: Unrevealed
First Appearance: She-Hulk: Cosmic Collision#1 (February, 2009)
Powers/Abilities: The general population does not appear to possess superhuman powers.
Adula was a super-heroine, but whatever her abilities, she was no match for Unum.
Traits: Almost nothing has been revealed, but they dwelled in cities with large, advanced buildings adorned with red or purple crystal and wore stylized clothing, some with ornate headdresses.
Adula and Adulaysha appeared to dwell within something of a palace, and so they may have had a monarchy or similar government.
Type: Bilaterally symmetric semi-humanoid bipeds
Eyes: Two (on head; red-brown color seen)
Fingers: Four (plus opposing thumb)
Toes: Unrevealed
Skin color: "Pink" (comparable to Caucasian humanity), at least
Average height: Approximately 5'10"?
Other distinguishing features: Those that had hair appeared to have green hair. Adulaysha had purple lips, but that may have been a form of lipstick.
History:
(She-Hulk:
Cosmic Collision#1) - On the planet Yor, Adulaysha was a super heroine of some sort.
Adulaysha apparently dwelled within an ornate structure, possibly a palace or the equivalent of a mansion, with her daughter, Adula.
(She-Hulk: Cosmic Collision#1) - The cosmic entity Enmity created the gestalt being Unum and tasked her with slaying the universe's super heroines (with the plan to next take out the male heroes).
(She-Hulk: Cosmic Collision#1) - Unum brutally battered the superhuman Adulaysha, apparently within her own home.
Hearing the commotion, Adula rushed to her mother's side.
Although Adulaysha told Adula to run, the young girl refused. Instead, she asked why the attacker was doing this as her mother was a hero.
Unum simply replied, "That's why."
Adulaysha begged Adula to run, but Adula again refused, and she defiantly stated that if the attacker wanted her, "she'll have to come through me."
Replying, "As you wish," Unum unleashed an energy blast from her hand that apparently vaporized both Adulaysha and Adula, as well as leaving a smoking crater in the ground.
The people of Yor -- whether they were aware of Adulaysha's fate or not -- moved away with shocked looks on their faces as the immense Unum strode through the city before using her axe's energies to fly into the air and leave their world behind.
Comments: Created by Peter David, Mahmud A. Asrar, and Scott Hanna.
The planet was named as Yor, while the race was not specifically identified.
For the purposes of this entry, I am calling them the Yorites.
Adulaysha's name was revealed courtesy of Peter David in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Update#2's Unum profile.
The images in the main profile are not in chronological order. Since there are sub-profiles for Adula and Adulaysha, I wanted to feature images of Yor's other residents.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The "Yorites" (residents of the planet Yor) should be distinguished from:
The daughter of the heroine Adulaysha, she lived within their large domicile. While resting in her chair, Adula heared a commotion, and she rushed to the sound and found her mother already badly beaten by the powerful Unum. Although Adulaysha told Adula to run, the young girl refused. Instead, she asked why the attacker was doing this as her mother was a hero. Unum simply replied, "That's why." Adulaysha begged Adula defiantly stated that if the attacker wanted her, "she'll have to come through me." A hero on the planet Yor, Adulaysha was presumably
super-powered (she survived a trio of strikes from a being that
She-Hulk felt could have killed her in a single punch, and a rock-like
flooring shattered as she was smashed into it). She likely possessed superhuman strength and perhaps other abilities, but she did not demonstrate any other abilities as she was no match for the vastly powerful Unum. | ||
