History: (Thing: Freakshow#2 - BTS) - As an egg, Staak was fed to the Thing in his mashed potatoes by the Kree agents operating in Clarkston, Michigan.

(Thing: Freakshow#3) - After a time inside his stomach, Staak was vomited out, and announced to the Thing that he had been marked for extinction. However, finding herself surrounded by the Skrull agents of Paibok, she focused her attention on them.

(Thing: Freakshow#4) - Staak battled the Thing, his freakshow friend Istvan, and Paibok and his Skrulls over Talmadge, a newly-born Watcher who the Kree had taken captive. Staak was joined by her Kree-Kowl, which had recently emerged from its own egg, and the two of them assaulted the Thing. However, the Thing managed to snap Staak's staff in half, causing her and the Kree-Kowl to return to egg form. The Thing subsequently turned the eggs over to the Kree.

(Fantastic Four: Foes#1) - Staak and another Kree attended a gathering of enemies of the Fantastic Four held by the Puppet Master, who suggested that they combine their forces. Staak left with the others, without even acknowledging the Puppet Master's scheme.

The Kree-Kowl serves as the steed of Staak. The Kree attempted to feed it to the Thing in his sundae, but he didn't eat it. It later emerged to aid Staak in battle against the Thing, but when the Thing destroyed Staak's staff, it reverted to egg form.

The Kree-Kowl's body was covered with eyes and spikes, and it could breathe fire from its mouth.
