MEMBERSHIP: Siliconman, Scarecrow, Two-Faced Goblin (Harvey Osborn)
PURPOSE: (currently) "Night Minions" of Night Spectre; (formerly) independent super villains
AFFILIATIONS: Night Spectre
ENEMIES: Speed Demon (Blaze Allen); Dark Claw (Logan Wayne)
BASE of OPERATIONS: New Gotham City, the Amalgam Universe
FIRST APPEARANCE: Speed Demon#1 (March, 1996)
HISTORY:
(Investigator Comics#7) - Harvey Osborn, once a respected member of New Gotham City society, had the left side of his face horribly scarred. Blaming prominent New Gotham resident Logan Wayne (who was secretly the vigilante known as Dark Claw) for his permanent disfigurement, Harvey Osborn donned a costume and turned to super villainy as the Two-Faced Goblin.
(Speed Demon#1 (bts)) - Calling themselves the Terrible Three, the Two-Faced Goblin formed a partnership with fellow villains Scarecrow and Siliconman.
(Speed Demon#1 (bts)) - It turned out that Two-Faced Goblin possessed one of the Souls of Power -- souls which only the most pure or most corrupt individuals possessed. The other-dimensional demon known as Night Spectre, who was at the time engaged in a contest with his hated rival Speed Demon (Blaze Allen) to be the first to collect all 6,666 Souls of Power, sought to collect Two-Faced Goblin's soul. To accomplish this goal, Speed Demon possessed the souls of two weak-willed mortals, namely Scarecrow and Siliconman, and forced them to turn on their Terrible Three associate.
(Speed Demon#1) - "Demon's Night" - In New Gotham City, Scarecrow and Siliconman (both possessed by Night Spectre) attempted to kill Two-Faced Goblin and capture his soul for Night Spectre. Harvey Osborn was able to turn the tables on his former teammates, however, by throwing Scarecrow into a street light and tossing a Pumpkin Plasma Bomb at Siliconman. The Pumpkin Plasma Bomb chemically reacted with Siliconman's unique physiology, causing Siliconman to turn into solid glass. Two-Faced Goblin then proceeded to hurl the electrocuted Scarecrow into Siliconman, causing Siliconman to shatter all over the street.
But as soon as the broken shards of Siliconman fell to the ground, they began to reform into the shape of Night Spectre. Although it disgusted Night Spectre to take human form, he felt that it was necessary to deal with Two-Faced Goblin personally because he possessed the last Soul of Power within him. But before Night Spectre could rip Harvey Osborn's soul from the very fabric of his being, Speed Demon (Blaze Allen) intercepted Two-Faced Goblin and attempted to claim Harvey Osborn's corrupt soul for himself. Night Spectre regained possession of Two-Faced Goblin, however, when Arrowcaster (another one of Night Spectre mortal minions) distracted Speed Demon with an barrage of arrows.
With Two-Faced Goblin back within his grasp, Night Spectre retreated to his Sanctum of Lost Souls. Speed Demon followed (although Blaze Allen and the demon Etrigan became physically separated due to the fact that the magic spell which bound them together had no effect in Night Spectre's realm). Possessing Two-Faced Goblin's body, Night Spectre threatened to break Blaze Allen's neck in order to hold the demon Etrigan at bay. Fortunately for Blaze Allen, Kid Demon (Wally West) arrived on the scene and subdued Night Spectre by wrapping a chain around Two-Faced Goblin's neck and then slamming him into a wall.

Harvey Osborn was first referred to as the "Green Goblin" in SPEED DEMON#1 where his costume and weaponry were remarkably similar to that of the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) of Marvel's Earth-616. Harvey Osborn was later referred to as the "Two-Faced Goblin" in DARK CLAW ADVENTURES#1 where his rode a new coin-shaped glider and sported a new bifurcated goblin costume.

In case you're confused, Amalgam Comics didn't really exist beyond those seen in the few DC/Marvel cross-over. The titles you don't recognize are amalgams of similar Marvel and DC comics--Snood.
INVESTIGATOR COMICS is an Amalgam Universe version of DC's DETECTIVE COMICS [Two-Face (Harvey Dent) of the mainstream DC Universe debuted in DETECTIVE COMICS#66 while the Terrible Trio of the mainstream DC Universe debuted in DETECTIVE COMICS #253].

A former member of the super villain team known as the Terrible Three, Siliconman fell under the influence of the other-dimensional demon known as Night Spectre. Forced to do Night Spectre's earthly bidding, the malleable Siliconman was sent to kill and obtain the soul of his former associate, the Two-Faced Goblin (Harvey Osborn). Along with Scarecrow (another villain under the influence of Night Spectre), Siliconman attacked Two-Faced Goblin in New Gotham City. The crafty Two-Faced Goblin was able to survive the attack of his former teammates and then tossed one of his Pumpkin Plasma Bombs at Siliconman. The Pumpkin Plasma Bomb chemically reacted with Siliconman's unique physiology, causing the usually pliable Siliconman to turn into solid glass. Two-Faced Goblin then shattered Siliconman to pieces. Siliconman is an amalgam of Sandman (William Baker) of the Marvel Universe and Plastic Man (Eel O'Brian) of the DC Universe. --Speed Demon#1 |
Scarecrow
A former member of the super villain team known as the Terrible Three, Scarecrow fell under the influence of the other-dimensional demon known as Night Spectre. Forced to do Night Spectre's earthly bidding, Scarecrow was sent to kill and obtain the soul of his former associate, the Two-Faced Goblin (Harvey Osborn). Along with Siliconman (another villain under the influence of Night Spectre), Scarecrow attacked Two-Faced Goblin in New Gotham City. The crafty Two-Faced Goblin was able to survive the attack of his former teammates and then electrocuted Scarecrow by tossing him into a street light. Two-Faced Goblin then put the finishing touches on his former teammates by turning Siliconman to glass and then throwing the incapacitated Scarecrow into him. Scarecrow is an amalgam of Scarecrow (Ebenezer Laughton) of the Marvel Universe and Scarecrow (Jonathan Crane) of the DC Universe. --Speed Demon#1

Harvey Osborn was once a respected member of New Gotham City society. But in INVESTIGATOR COMICS#7 his life was changed forever when the left side of his face was permanently scarred. Mentally unhinged by this turn of events, Harvey Osborn blamed Logan Wayne (who moonlighted as New Gotham's vigilante hero Dark Claw) for his ghastly disfigurement and became the villain known as the Two-Faced Goblin (also known as the Green Goblin). Two-Faced Goblin later joined forces with fellow villains Siliconman and Scarecrow and formed the Terrible Three. But unknown to Two-Faced Goblin, he possessed one of the Souls of Power -- souls possessed by only the most pure or most corrupt individuals of the Amalgam Universe. The other-dimensional demon known as Night Spectre was engaged in a competition to be the first to collect 6,666 of these Souls of Power -- and (since Two-Faced Goblin possessed the last soul he needed to win) Night Spectre was especially anxious to rip Harvey Osborn's soul from the very fabric of his being. To accomplish this, Night Spectre turned Harvey Osborn's own Terrible Three teammates against him. But when Osborn emerged victorious over his former allies, Night Spectre was forced to take human form in order to capture Two-Faced Goblin's soul on his own. After a confrontation with his rhyming rival the Speed Demon (Blaze Allen), Night Spectre eventually succeeded in capturing Two-Faced Goblin and retreated with him to his Sanctum of Lost Souls. Speed Demon followed in hot pursuit (although Blaze Allen and the demon Etrigan became physically separated due to the fact that the magic spell which bound them together had no effect in Night Spectre's realm). It is unknown what became of Two-Faced Goblin after the events of SPEED DEMON #1, but he is presumed to have survived the altercation with his soul intact. In DARK CLAW ADVENTURES#1, Dark Claw trained in the Danger Cave against robotic versions of his most lethal enemies -- including a robotic version of Two-Faced Goblin. Two-Faced Goblin often uses a coin-shaped vertical-thrust glider and an arsenal of Plasma Pumpkin Bombs in his criminal activities. Two-Faced Goblin (Harvey Osborn) is an amalgam of Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) of the Marvel Universe and Two-Face (Harvey Dent) of the DC Universe. --Speed Demon#1
