Multiversal Deathlok army
(pawns of Kurt Dagmar impostor)
Membership: Deathlok (Luther Manning) of Earth-7484; Purpose: Serving the Kurt Dagmar impostor Aliases: None Affiliations: Forced to serve the Kurt Dagmar impostor and his allies in A.I.M. (notably Bekker); Enemies: Formerly Invaders (Captain America, Human Torch/Jim Hammond, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Winter Soldier/James Barnes); Base of Operations: Their native realities; First Appearance: All-New Invaders#8 (September, 2014) Powers/Abilities:
The Multiversal Deathloks presumably possessed many of Deathlok-7484's
abilities, including being a reanimated corpse augmented with bionics
+/- a computer mind, possessing superhuman strength, speed, durability,
and using a laser pistol or other weapons. See Deathlok's profile for details. Some carried larger rifle-like blasters, while some had blaster weapons built into one of their arms. One of the latter such Deathloks was markedly taller, perhaps 15' tall, with extended limbs and thin body (as opposed to just be proportionately larger all-around). At least one Deathlok
had a sword for a right arm as well as extended, sharp, talon-like
digits on the left hand. Most of the Deathloks were male, but at least two were female. One of the Deathloks
was patterned somewhat after Captain America, possessed a large
discoid shield, and used some sort of jet pack to allow him to fly at
least high enough into the air to engage someone approaching Dagmar's
base via jet. |
History:
(All-New
Invaders#9 (fb) - BTS) - The existence of Deathlok (Luther Manning) of
Earth-7484 led to numerous other Deathloks in various realities as well
various incarnations of Deathloks on Earth-616. <Years before the main story> - The
apparent Martian Master posing as
German terrorist and arms-dealer Kurt Dagmar somehow learned of various
multiversal incarnations of Deathlok, with whom he became fascinated. Dagmar acquired his first Deathlok by bribing a Roxxon employee. (All-New Invaders#10 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Dagmar acquired the cocoon containing Toro (Thomas Raymond, whose Inhuman nature had been recently discovered) as well as the Iron Cross (Clare Gruler, who was both an Inhuman and a human-machine hybrid, as she had merged with her armor). (All-New Invaders#10 (fb) - BTS) - At some
point, Dagmar traded some weaponry to obtain a device that functioned
as a doorway to the timestream and alternate realities. (All-New Invaders#9 (fb) - BTS) - Via
this device, Dagmar transported multiple such Deathloks to Earth-616
and placed them under his control (possibly via Iron Cross (Clare
Gruler, whom he had also captured and controlled). Dagmar dampened
Gruler's abilities and stopped her from accessing computers to send
messages. The device also prevented the Deathloks from returning to their own realities/times. At some point, Dagmar summoned Deathlok (Luther Manning) of Earth-7484 to Earth-616 where he put Manning under his control as part of an army of alternate reality Deathloks he had assembled.
(All-New Invaders#8 (fb) - BTS / All-New Invaders#9 (fb) - BTS / All-New Invaders#10 (fb) - BTS) - Seeking to take control of the android Human Torch (Jim Hammond), Dagmar" planted intel -- notably the cocoon containing
Toro -- to lead the Torch to him in his secret
base in Germany's Black Forest. (All-New Invaders#9 (fb) - BTS) - The Winter Soldier obtained information to lead him to "Dagmar" by Iron Cross (Clare
Gruler) who managed to access a weak signal and send out a message. (All-New Invaders#8 - BTS) - The Torch was joined by Namor; Captain America was initially occupied but would join up with them as soon as possible. Invading the base of Dagmar, Namor and the Torch were confronted by an army of Deathloks. |
(All-New Invaders#9 (fb) - BTS) - Deathlok-7484 remained by Dagmar's side. (All-New Invaders#9) - As the alternate reality
Deathloks engaged Namor and the Torch, Captain America -- who was
approaching by jet -- communicated with the Winter Soldier, learning of
the situation. Captain America was subsequently approached by a Captain
America-like Deathlok with some sort of jetpack, and he ejected from his jet to engage this Deathlok. Meanwhile, Dagmar had his aide Bekker
attempt to take control of the Torch. Deathlok-7484 threatened to
kill Dagmar for his manipulation, but Dagmar mocked Deathlok's
inability to resist his control and taunted him with his various
alternate reality counterparts serving under him. After Dagmar and Bekker took
control of and incapacitated the Torch, Dagmar ordered Deathlok-7484 to
use a weapon -- an improved version of a weapon used by the Kree
Tanalith the Pursuer -- to slay Namor. However, the blast was deflected by the shield of the arriving Captain America (who had incapacitated the Captain America Deathlok) and instead fatally struck Dagmar, who in death was apparently revealed as a Martian Master. |
. . . (All-New Invaders#10 (fb) - BTS) - With Dagmar's death, Deathlok-7484 regained his free will and also took command of the other Deathloks, halting the conflict. (All-New
Invaders#10) - The Deathlok stayed in a group, staring silently at Dagmar's corpse. The other Deathloks all vanished, presumably returning to their own realities/times, after which Deathlok-7484 similarly vanished. |

We don't know any details about
these Deathloks beyond what is listed in the history above, so there's
really nothing that allows us to designate them to any particular
reality.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Multiversal Deathlok army summoned by Kurt Dagmar has no known connections to
Presumably acquired and controlled in a similar fashion to the other Deathloks, this Deathlok possessed a large discoid shield, and he used some sort of
jet pack to allow him to fly at least high enough into the air to
engage someone approaching Dagmar's base via jet. (All-New Invaders#9) - As the alternate reality
Deathloks engaged Namor and the Torch, Captain America -- who was
approaching by jet -- communicated with the Winter Soldier, learning of
the situation. Captain America was subsequently approached by a Captain America-like Deathlok with some sort of jetpack, and he ejected from his jet to engage this Deathlok. (All-New Invaders#9 (fb) - BTS) - Captain
America ultimately defeated the Captain America-like Deathlok,
apparently casuing him to crash into a tree. (All-New Invaders#9) - With the Captain
America-like Deathlok lying on his back against a partially fallen
tree, Captain America announcted that he would be at Dagmar's base
shortly. Note: Like Dagmar's other Deathloks, we don't know any details about this Deathloks beyond what is listed in the history above, so there's really nothing that allows us to designate him to any particular reality. Notably, he could be Steve Rogers, Luther Manning, or someone else completely. Maybe he was his reality's Captain America/Steve Rogers and the was rebuilt as a reanimated corpse/cyborg after dying in battle. Maybe Deathlok/Luther Manning or another Deathlok became his reality's Captain America. Or...something else... |
(All-New Invaders#10 (fb) - BTS) - After Captain America informed Deathlok-7484 of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s imminent arrival and their potential plans for the Deathloks, Manning destroyed the device that was preventing himself and the other Deathloks from returning to their worlds. The other Deathloks all vanished, presumably returning to their own realities/times, after which Deathlok-7484 similarly vanished. --All-New Invaders#10 |
