History:
(Silver Sable and
the Wild Pack#1 (fb) - BTS) - Dmitri and Silver Sable were lovers for a
while, then their ways parted.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#1 / Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#8 (fb) - BTS) - Years later, Dmitri had become a lieutenant in Hydra, but he also became an important leader of the Genesis
Coalition. The
Genesis Coalition wanted to destroy Hydra and to take its place, so
Petrovich's real intention
was to discredit Hydra for some terrorist operations, and acquire and
steal resources for the Coalition.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#1) - Petrovich and his Hydra commando took control of the Cranewood School for Girls at
Northampton.
Among the students there were the daughters of
various worldwide political figures. Anna, niece of Silver Sable, was
one of them. Menacing to kill the hostages, the Hydra terrorists
demanded that 27 international criminals would be released from
imprisonment. Dmitri ordered to kill one of the girls, as a
demonstration of the seriousness of his intentions. She was slashed and
thrown out of a window.
Meanwhile, Silver Sable and Spider-Man had
infiltrated the school. Soon, Dmitri was informed that unknown
hostile forces were in the building so he ordered to eliminate the
opposition. However, Sable and Spider-Man were reached by the Wild
Pack, and their combined forces overwhelmed Hydra's.
When Sable reached the room where Dmitri was
menacing Anna, both were surprised. Surrounded, Dmitri was ready to
die, provided that he had the chance to kill Sable. Before he could
shoot, Sandman distracted him, and a chai thrown by Sable disarmed the
Hydra lieutenant. Dmitri was captured as were many of his men.
(Silver Sable and the Wild
Pack#6) - Dmitri joined the real organization he belonged to: the
Genesis Coalition.
In the South American rain forest he led a team
that recovered a mutated monkey as many other specimen elsewhere.
Hidden, Paladin was spying on them, but he was
spotted. Petrovich left with the specimen to reach the
rendezvous point.
(Deathlok II#19 (fb) - BTS) - Some Cyberwarriors were sold to the Genesis
Coalition.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#8) - In the Genesis Coalition's hidden
base, Dmitri had a meeting with the other leaders of the Genesis
Coalition. He had a quarrel with Lubischt, a Nazi scientist who
conducted experiments on human beings. For Dmitri, the doctor was too
slow in developing the super soldier.
Later, the base was attacked by the Wild Pack.
Dmitri carried Silver Sable out of the window and both fell in the
lake several feet below. There Dmitri surprised Sable by revealing
that her father was still alive and a prisoner of the Coalition. The
surprise was so shocking that Dmitri gained the upper hand on Silver.
She was saved by the arrival of Paladin, but Dmitri escaped.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#10) - Silver Sable was tracking Leviathan, who had supplied Dmitri with stolen Hydra technology.
(Silver Sable and the Wild
Pack#11/1) - Petrovich
took over a powerful sea base from Hydra and used it for the Genesis
Coalition forces, and for readying their army of Cyberwarriors. The Coalition was ready to invade Transia and to conquer
Mount Wundagore.
Three hours before the attack of Transia, an
unidentified flying vehicle approached the base. Petrovich had it
destroyed. Dmitri did not know that aboard were Silver Sable and the
Wild Pack, who survived. When he heard that the attackers were the Symkarian mercenaries, he
sent a garrison of Cyberwarriors to destroy them. The distraction unwittingly provided by the
Wild Pack enabled the Newt Wave to reach the base undetected. Hydra
had hired them to punish the Coalition.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#12) - Unexpectedly, the damage
caused by the Next Wave to the base was so heavy that the station
was sinking. Trefkov and Petrovich flew to Transia with their
army, to keep their plan going.
Once in the skies of Transia, Trefkov gave
voice to his plan, to use Mount Wundagore as a starting base for
expanding their power. Their next target would have been Latveria.
However, the Knights of Wundagore, helped by Siege, proved to be a challenge. Coalition leaders left the
battlefield while the Cyberwarriors did the dirty work. The Wild Pack and Next Wave's arrival, to help the Knights, changed the tide of the battle, and the cyborg army
was defeated.
(Silver Sable and the Wild
Pack#23/1 (fb) - BTS) -
The Genesis Coalition transferred its forces to an old abandoned Hydra
base, below Earth's surface.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#23/1) - Trefkov, tired of Petrovich's failures, had him imprisoned.
Meanwhile, the Coalition was organizing a full-scale war in Bosnia, to
put the blame on Hydra. Hydra would have taken the fall, and the
Coalition would have picked up the pieces.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#24/1) - Long before his imprisonment, Petrovich had founded a
faction loyal to him. A legion of men was ready for his return.
Two of his followers freed him so that his plan
could proceed. They stole a flying fighter and reached Symkaria.
Upon arriving there Petrovich attacked the Wild Pack during a ceremony with King Stefan (actually Foreigner in disguise) and Silver Sable. He was captured,
but it was part of his plan to lure Silver Sable and the Wild Pack to fight Trefkov,
then to let his legion intervene and take leadership of the
Genesis Coalition.
In fact, Silver Sable wanted more information about
her father and Petrovich confirmed to her that he was alive. The Wild Pack
left with Petrovich to reach the Coalition's base in the Black Sea.
Once there, they entered the base. Split in groups of
two, Petrovich, Sable and Battlestar were attacked by a man in armor.
Petrovich already knew who he was and after the man took off his helmet, Sable
believed him to be her father.
(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#25/1) - The man in armor confessed that he was Fritz
Sablinova, Ernst's twin brother. He told them that many
years ago he had infiltrated Hydra and had conceived the plan to
create the Genesis Coalition. The Coalition would have led to the
dissolution of Hydra working from the inside. Petrovich, having learned this
plan, tried to flee, helped by other loyal soldiers arriving on the
scene. He had the idea to use the information he had just learned to gain the
loyalty of the rest of the Genesis Coalition forces. But Silver Sable stopped
his escape and Fritz fried his skull with an electric blast, killing
him. With his last words, Petrovich tried to reveal that he had not lied
to Silver about her father, but he didn't live long enough.
Comments: Created by Gregory Wright, Steven Butler & James Sanders III.
The Genesis Coalition was a spin-off of Hydra and
Petrovich had created another spin-offf of the Genesis Coalition...union is
strength!
Petrovich admitted that strategy wasn't his forte. In fact he almost
failed in every role he played in the Genesis Coalition.
